Has everyone seen the under 12 carnival groups?

Why would you place the alleged better sides in one group?

It is akin to having BRAZIL/GERMANY/SPAIN/FRANCE/ARGENTINA pooled in one group in the world cup!

Its happened the last 2 years so no surprise, its designed for one of the smaller clubs to make a run thru the finals on one side of the draw and with the best teams meeting in the Semi's on the other side which results in the GF being a massive blow out instead of the 2 best teams on the day making the GF.

If a club has 2 u12 teams surely the common sense thing to do is to put them on different sides of the draw?

How did this go. I only saw the start of the semis. Who did Christies play in the GF?

Christies played HV Gold with Christies winning.

Looked like a good day overall, the ovals were set up much better this year, with a bit more size about them.

Disappointing that some clubs choose to put all their top aged kids in one team and leave their other team undersized.

Can anyone provide a review of the Reynella vs Shoes game? Looks like the Shoes were down by 5 goals at half time but kicked 11 goals to 4 after half time to run over Reynella. Shoes have hit red hot form!

If this is the case will we see Flaggies request a venue change?

Sunday Finals this week sees Flaggies getting a home final in both grades, will they be requesting a venue change?

I hear there is a meeting of the Presidents coming up with proposed changes for 2017 in the wake of Brighton and MVP leaving. Anyone care to comment on this?

Yes for Monday, although it was already scheduled prior to BDOS & MVP making their decisions

That said the 2 decisions the SWG had on the table where carried to the SFL AGM to be voted i.e. junior ages 13/15/17.5 and that the constitution change where in 2017 EVERY club must have 1 junior side and in 2018 minimum 2 junior sides . If no compliant see you later.

So Noarlunga play Brighton twice in a row and looks like the same may be for Porties and Christies as well (if Porties win), poor old Morphy Parks may play the loser of Reynella and Flaggies and with their injuries may leave the SFL with a Finals flogging.

I reckon what it does is give every club in the SFL to strive to have 2 x junior sides and work hard to keep these. I believe the 13's would be on a Sunday and this would allow a smooth transition for the 12's to go playing for premiership points. A positive move I would have thought!!

The transition from 17.5s to Seniors won't be so smooth!

We will lose more kids than we already do with the jump from 18s. Bad move in my opinion.

- Marion are regretting making an early call to stay in SFL. Reportedly shocked by Brighton leaving and feel like the only rat left down the hill on a sinking ship.
- Marion trying to convince Brighton to reconsider and stay in SFL

I think I have heard of 4 Clubs chasing Will Rivers - can Marion be added to that.
