Now we just need thirty thousand TV sets placed around the ground to add to the atmosphere, each telecasting an image of the people watching at home.

Personally I don't want more people to attend. Would rather the comp die

The complaints about the on-field stuff are a hiding to nothing. The crows would have been bagged just as much for losing that game as they would have been accused of not trying hard enough.
The off field stuff is valid imo. It is clear interest in the comp is fading.
Here is what I think should happen to the structure of footy. Just trying to be constructive, so dont howl me down.
1. The AFL has a fully national reserves comp.
2. All AFL teams get Sydney style academies, which form the player pool for the topups.
3. The SANFL has an opportunity to forge its own identity again. It may mean it is smaller, and closer to ammos than afl in terms of standard, but I think it will be a good thing for the comp.
4. The hard part will be managing this transition.
5. The SANFL also needs to get its house in order regarding their content generation and move a lot of it in house. The AFL has been extremely successful in this regard, and there is an opportunity for the SANFL to do the same thing. The SANFL website is very average. They should look at live streaming every game, and having a couple of full time reporters pumping out multiple articles every day, rather than relying on the mainstream media to cover it, which doesnt seem to be happening.
Thoughts?

So who were they? From my (rapidly fading memory)
Joe Tripodi
Nick Chigwidden
Kurt Slaven
Bohdan Jaworski
Can anyone correct/complete the list?

Whilst many valid points they all fall down around this one.
There is no way that the AFL will fund a national reserves competition now that it has the NEAFL, VFL, WAFL and SANFL serving this very purpose ( giving the left over AFL listed players a game ) without costing the AFL a cent.
The NEAFL is completely controlled by the AFL, you could argue the VFL and WAFL is too and ( watch them jump on this ) the SANFL is JUST standing on it's own two feet.....JUST.
