In an interesting decision the Perth Wildcats have announced they've released new signing Corey Webster from his contract with the club supposedly to take up an offer overseas but this story comes out right at the same time as rumours of Bryce Cotton returning to the Wildcats.

http://www.wildcats.com.au/perth-wildca ... -wildcats/

Also in NBA Summer League news contracted Brisbane Bullets import Torrey Craig had a big game today for the Denver Nuggets in their win over the Houston Rockets coming off the bench in 29 min and putting up 27 points, 11 rebounds and 3 blocks on 8-14 shooting. The Bullets might have to start looking at a possible replacement.

In other Las Vegas news new Sydney Kings signing Perry Ellis has been playing well for the Minnesota Timberwolves and started today and had 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals and Mitch Creek in 14 min off the bench had 8 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in Utah's loss to Phoenix. Nathan Sobey only played 9 mins for 4 points and 2 rebounds too for the Jazz.

Now confirmed in some great news for the NBL the Perth Wildcats have re-signed star import reigning NBL Finals MVP Bryce Cotton in the club's quest for a third consecutive championship. Cotton is currently playing for the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA Summer League.

Also Team China are out here for a couple of games and they take on Melbourne United in Melbourne this Sunday at 2:30pm live on NBL TV.

A good win for Melbourne United today against Team China winning 104-92 in OT. From what I saw of the game David Andersen was very impressive finishing with 20 points, new recruit Craig Moller also scored 20 and Kyle Adnam had 19. For China Wu Qian scored 22 and Hu Jinqiu 17.

Without any sense of irony given the notoriously absurd levels of home cooking they get in their country the Chinese whinged about the refs, foul count and free throw disparity of 56-27 in United's favour. The last few minutes of OT dragged on forever with the Chinese fouling non-stop and they wondered why eight of their players fouled out and were only left with four players on the court at the end of the game.

Impressive crowd of almost 7,000 to a pre-season game.

Next up for China they play the Brisbane Bullets on the Gold Coast on Tuesday night at 6:30pm live on NBL TV.

The Perth Wildcats have announced that two-time championship import Casey Prather will not be returning to the club this season, probably a result of re-signing Bryce Cotton. Prather spent the off-season playing in Germany and then for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Summer League.

The Perth Wildcats have announced the signing of their second import in Devondrick Walker a 6'5" SG who has been playing in the D-League and won the Most Improved Player of the year award last season. He also just played for the Utah Jazz in the NBA Summer League.

http://www.nbl.com.au/featured-news/wil ... ck-walker/

Also the Brisbane Bullets have confirmed that unfortunately import Torrey Craig won't be back this season signing with the Denver Nuggets after impressing for the Nuggets at the NBA Summer League. He played the last three seasons in the NBL with the Bullets last season and the Cairns Taipans from 2014-16.

Even though the 36ers haven't announced the signing of any of their imports yet this would be fantastic news if true:

ADELAIDE power forward Daniel Johnson says an invitation to a marquee international event will be pivotal for team bonding as the 36ers travel to Singapore’s Merlion Cup in September.

The Sixers are the only Australian team in the Singapore event, in which it will be pitted against some of Asia’s best teams from countries such as China, Malaysia, Hong Kong and the Philippines.

Adelaide expects to have its three new imports — expected to be Ramone Moore, Kevin Dillard and Roland Roberts — at the event.

Two things apparently wrong with that article now. I think he did get confused with the former Kings import Rolan Roberts as our guys name is similar Ronald Roberts, he kinda merged both names together understandable without Boti Nagy there anymore.

What isn't acceptable though is that it now seems like Kevin Dillard won't be coming to the 36ers and has apparently signed with PAOK in Greece.
