The world of Australian football is in mourning after the news that broadcasting legend and SBS presenter Les Murray has died aged 71.
The country’s most prominent presence on TV screens covering the sport, he was a passionate advocate for the game and a much loved figure both in sport and the media.

Sad news, didn't know he was ill. Murray was one the faces of the world game in the Australia media, along with the late Johnny Warren, who had seemingly been there from the beginning. For people like me with a peripheral interest in the game, his experience and knowledge meant his views were the ones that were the most informative. Rest in Peace.

I've never been into futbol but always had great respect for his commentary this is sad news. Time to play the TISM song out of respect.
RIP Les

Oh wow, thats pissed my day right off.
One of my favorites and great bloke to talk to. Spoke to him a few times and was always generous with his time.
R.I.P. Les you will be truely missed. Enjoy the catch up with Johnny Warren.

Re: Vale - Les Murray
My first memories of Les (Laslo) were him presenting the half hour world sports show Mon-Fri on SBS. While soccer (football) was his passion, he was broader than just that. Back in the day the only cycling vision we got was via Les and this show.
Vale Les Murray.
