87 leadup, game and aftermath on Youtube

Postby Wedgie » Thu Aug 23, 2007 10:13 pm

Wessie, a regular contributor on the Roost has put together a great video tribute for the 1987 Premiers with the re-union happening tomorrow night.
Well worth a look as not only highlights of the game it includes news footage of the march the week before, the party, the cleanup, etc, some things that people wouldn't have seen in a hell of a long time.
Warning though, takes about 5-10 seconds to load for my internet connection but for people with dialup it may take a couple of minutes:

Absolutely brilliant. Good work Wessie.

I particularly liked the news preview stories. I had a pretty strong memory of them myself. Whatever happened to the pedicabs? Check out all the '80s hair on the cheerleaders

Won't be as big as our 100th anniversary a couple of years ago when we celebrated keeping Port to a dismal 1-6 i a grand final.
In fact as a tribute we now celebrate it every year by winning every game we play at Alberton. :D

I nearly included "cue Wedgie or Drebin" in my post.

I've been through the history books and the best thing I can come up with in reply is "**** off" ;-)
