R7 North v South Sat 1410

Post by DOC »

North held on to beat Adelaide last round and have certainly been impressive.

South improved greatly in the last three quarters against Centrals and have now lost Sam Overall, so their work will be cut out for them.

That said, South by a point.

What forward options do the Panthers have to replace Overall? The big New Yorker Aurrichio?

I think Ben Haren would come back in.

Alex is a great athlete but for me, he is not yet a league footballer (played one or two last year and found the opponents too good).

Panthers would need Joel Cross to return to have a chance, big (i do mean BIG!) Alex Aurrichio lurking in the goal square not a bad option, he is an accurate kick and would stretch North defenders, young Nathan Kruger showed some good signs in his debut.

Strange selection by South to have whittlesea at Full Forward 28 disposals for the year 1 goal 2?? surely there are better avenues to goal? Krueger would be a better option with maybe Fairlie at the fall of the ball , those stats should have him hanging on in the 2's.

In: Szust, Haren, Redigolo, Cross
Out: Overall (foot), Irra (omitted)

Crossy was pretty funny in Triple M this morning.

Big day for the Panthers on Saturday with their Gala Dinner that night at Adelaide Oval also.

Keenan Ramsey in for North with no outs at this stage.
Would be surprised if Thring played after doing a hammy two weeks ago.

But did he "do" the hamstring.

I heard that it was just a precaution to take him off.

The standard is that if a player does a hamstring is that it takes 22 days to heal.

I'll have to consult my physiotherapist daughter.
Ironically she'll be at Prospect on Saturday as she's a South trainer. :D

North has regained a key focal point for its contest against South on Saturday.

Former Crows rookie Keenan Ramsey has recovered from a bout of concussion suffered against the Eagles in Round 5.

North back to pretty much a full strength squad this week with Ramsey replacing Barns at CHF.
Congratulations to Jarred Allmond, clocking up his 150th SANFL game this week.

I think North will have too much grunt and too much fire Power for South to handle.

North by 45-50 points
