The career of retiring Penrith Panther Peter Wallace. Wallace has played 240 games for Penrith > Brisbane > Penrith being only one of 25 to have played 100 games for 2 clubs. We talk about AFL players battling on through injuries across their career, well....
2008 ruptured a testicle in the opening minutes of an Origin game, played on through the 80 minutes.
2017 finals series ( 2 games ) with 3 broken ribs, nobody at the club knew of the injury, only his personal doctor.
4 knee reconstructions. 2 shoulder reconstructions.
1 of the ACL injuries was suffered before half time of a match where Penrith had already lost two players to injury. He played out the game. But that, in his terms, is nothing.
One of his knee reconstructions came after it was discovered during an MRI on his groin that he had a torn his ACL. As it turns out the ACL had been torn off 10 months earlier in the previous season. So he'd played several games, a preseason and played several more in the new season before it was discovered.
Tough. As. Nails.
PAFC. Forever.
LOOK OUT, WE'RE COMING!
