How does this OFO bike system work? Do you ride it to a location and lock it up at the next point? Pay via card?

Seeing all these bikes dumped on the news...... surely they have some sort of ID/bond system?

So they trust people to leave them in a 'safe place' and not drop them off at the next lock up point and lock them up..?

You use an app to unlock the bike, the crank locks up if you don't pay, the bikes have a gps chip in them so they can be found.

I was thinking the same thing this morning, how sad is it that Melbourne has had this for years and years yet we can't have nice things because Adelaide is full of nongs

The Yarra river is full of these bikes apparently so I’m not sure Melbourne has it right either.

oBike has pulled out of Melbourne recently aswell. Hundreds of bikes have been dumped in the Yarra or in trees around the City and the council so they introduced a policy where oBike could be fined $3000 if a bike is dumped or in an illegal spot for too long.

Sydney has the bikes as well.

Was almost funny walking through Sydney on a Sunday Morning and seeing how innovative and creative Saturday night party goers could get with the bikes scattered in random and obscure places.

Should make them so they can float.

Silly comment, everywhere is "too bogan" for them. Every city has the same problem with them, not just Adelaide.

They're a great idea, there's been a few floating around our area that I've used to go in and out the Port a couple of times, pity the moron's who get off chucking them in the river or a tree ruin it for people who see their use.
