So, where does Shaquiri fit into the Liverpool side? Salah, Mane and Firmino ahead of him, so he's not going to start unless they have injuries. Impact player off the bench maybe. Thought he might have moved to a club where he would get a lot more game time.

He is pure insurance IMO.

Think you're both right - Insurance for the 3 mentioned, and the club will be hoping for a super-sub type of impact. He's long been labelled with the tag of "plays well only when he feels like it" and his workrate his often been questioned, which is why I was surprised JK went for him (although he fits the typically moneyball approach we usually take under our current ownership).

used to also buy him in FIFA Manager mode because he had so much potential at Bayern. Be interesting to see his attitude if he's not playing regularly

Liverpool have offered Roma £62m for their goal keeper Alisson. Chelsea are likely to sell Courtois to Real Madrid, which means they will also be shopping for a keeper. I'm sure Alisson will end up at one of those two clubs. That's a lot of money for a goalie!

And whilst he's still better than Karius, it's a crap ton of money to fork out for a bloke we shipped 7 past over two legs in a CL Semi

I'd rather that then spend 66M on a GK. Obviously you've been in a hole JK? one of our most active transfer windows ever

Klopp is a massive hypocrite. Said he wanted to build a team without spending big like other clubs and in the space of a year has brought in the worlds most expensive defender and the worlds most expensive keeper.

Surely you can spend 66 million elsewhere on the squad?

Can someone jog my memory. Does the transfer window close before the season starts now or end of August?

Said he's not a typically big spender and prefers to develop rather than buy established, but has never ruled out the latter. We copped plenty of stick for our record spend on Van Dyke but everyone STFU when he made a difference and justified it.

Theanks for the laugh though mate, imagine labeling someone else's manager a hypocrite when you have Mourinho in charge

Is this specific to the EPL? Because if you can still sell the player will be incoming somewhere else?

Yes. Other English leagues and leagues around the world have different closure dates. The last day for EPL ins is August 9th, players going out can still go to the leagues whose window is still open.
