Godden has coached Woodville West Torrens in the SANFL since 2010, leading the Eagles to a premiership in his second year at the club.
The Eagles have appeared in finals in each of Godden’s nine seasons at the helm, with the veteran mentor holding a winning percentage of 62.6.
Godden is no stranger to the Crows, drafted by Adelaide with pick No. 116 in the Club’s first-ever national draft in 1992.
Head of Football Brett Burton said Godden would assist the Club’s midfield at AFL level and work closely with Scott Camporeale in this role. Camporeale will take further responsibility around game strategy in season 2019.
“Michael has been a successful coach with Woodville West Torrens for a number of years and brings a wealth of experience and positive attributes to our Club,” Burton said.
“He drives high standards, is an outstanding leader and communicator and we’re confident his coaching experience can help our midfield group in 2019.”

Hopefully the new coach will bring a more attacking game plan as our deficiency was kicking enough goals to win finals. Eags and sturt now competing in the same market, will be interesting!

Fuller's Grand Final record was much maligned but Centrals were clearly the best team in season 2001 and 2004* and also clearly in the best form in the second half of the 2005 season.
The Centrals sides of the 2000s were also much, much better sides than the 2015 Bloods or 2016 Blues.
*The Eagles could've and probably should've won the 2SF in 2004 but obviously the rest that season is history.
