Re: South v Norwood Mon 1410
Very handy to get the first goal of the final quarter. Need to hold them out now

McKenzie with a couple of decent grabs in the final minute to deny the Panthers.

No way.
Our percentage is shocking and only 2 games above Sturt and Port.
Our next 4 games will decide our fate, need to atleast go 2-2 if we hope to finish top 3

Norwoods percentage is fine ? Almost second best. But maybe you're right , lets see . You'd need to drop probably 3 more games than Port and Sturt I would think.

Currently 4th best percentage. We have Port at Alberton next week with a stacked AFL list and then the Eagles, Ravens (another stacked list) and Glenelg at the Bay.
A real possibility we may only get 1 win or even zero out of that

Re: South v Norwood Mon 1410
50-18 the hit outs for Norwood. South really miss Knoll. Although we managed more clearances, I can only imagine if we had better competition in the ruck. Also more inside 50s for South and overall possession. It comes down to efficiency and if you can’t kick straight, especially at home, you don’t deserve to win. Very frustrating with 3 more scoring shots today and 5 more in both draws South must be wondering “if only”. A disappointing trend which is hopefully rectified for the next game against the rampaging tigers.

Hearing Grigg was off injured for about half the game, anyone know the nature of injury?

On the radio broadcast, he went off about ¾ time and they said trainers were working on his lower back. Never came back.JK wrote:Hearing Grigg was off injured for about half the game, anyone know the nature of injury?
Bode was off prior to that for the game, as well. (Calf? Not sure.) So even though Norwood nearly dug a hole for themselves yet again in the last half of a last quarter, there were extenuating circumstances this time kicking into a strong wind, with only 1 player on the bench and missing our captain and our best player.

Norwood’s flag to lose.
Only team to have Glenelg’s measure.

Re: South v Norwood Mon 1410
Entertaining game with plenty of momentum shifts. South should/could have been further than 15 points ahead at half time, negating the breeze in the first term before dominating the second. The Legs slammed on 7 goals in the third, converting opportunities from outside 50 and around stoppages. The lead got out to as many as 26 in the final quarter, but a goal to Heaslip at the 26 min mark reduced the margin to 2 points. South continued to press hard, but McKenzie took a couple of pack marks to see the Legs hold on.
Liked the games of Cross (33 and 4 goals), Cailotto (smashed in ruck but 31 touches and 12 clearances), Noble, Haines and Karpany.
Outside of Good Friday games, one of the best crowds I've seen at Noarlunga in recent years. Actually had to line up to buy a beer and take a piss..
The story of South's season continues- a mix of good, bad and ugly.
Lastly, well down to hills lad Dawe on his 200th.

Echo most of your sentiments.
Made the long trek down from Gawler and had a very enjoyable day. Crowd was quite decent, long time since I’ve had to line up for a beer at Noarlunga

Spoke with a Norwood official who said almost exactly what you’ve written - felt that South was the better team, particularly in the first half and they should have led by much more at 1/2 time.

Re: South v Norwood Mon 1410
Grigg got back spasms and they just wouldn’t stop.
As a neutral I thought it was a good game. South have some very good juniors coming thru the ranks Sampson Emery kappler etc...
Norwood doing enough to keep the wins coming in. Which is all u can do at this time of year.
