This will mean I'll have one game from 11:30 to 1 then another from 2:45 to 5, I was meant to take my daughter for a driving lesson too as she was going to drive me to the game, I just hope the calves and hammies don't seize up in between.
Looking forward to checking my bets when I finish though, I cleaned up last week only betting on the last at each meeting as there have been some crazy results.

Got a semi final this week apparently, wasn't too fazed either way, was expecting the younger ones to get all the finals, they train religiously and chuck a part of their payments into an end of season trip that they all go on.

Do they go wild playing Uno and drinking Shandys?

they've gotta be careful what they get up to, there's always a whistle blower amongst them.

Yes they can, having said that, they shouldn't have to, as the goal umpire should not have signalled anything without first receiving the all clear from the field umpire.
The field umpire is actually the one who decides if its a goal.
When giving the all clear, the field umpire will put 2 hands up, 1 hand up, or none.
2 = goal.
1 = point
0 = I don't know, your call goal umpire.
Goal umpires are simply glorified signal men/women, who provide back up for when the field umpire didn't have a good view.

Ahhh No, well not exactly.
Law 8 outlines the responsibilities of the umpires.
The role of the field umpires and boundary umpires (with respect to the behind post) is to assist the goal umpire to adjudicate if it is a behind or a goal. The goal umpires have final say on if the ball is wholly over the line and or if it a goal/behind.
When field umpires are putting up their hands as you described it is to indicate what we think the score is, to assist them. If the goal umpire disagrees he has final say.
However the practice is in that case is that the field umpire would call time off and then have a conversation with the goal umpire to determine what the final decision is, I.e "Are you sure, I think it is this......" if the goal umpire is adamant it is a goal or a behind then that is the decision.
In the case described by Dutchy, I hope the above occurred, i.e. the Field umpire has respected the goal umpire and gone in to have a conversation and they have negotiated the correct score outcome - in that case "the Flag" has gone with what the "Fieldy" thinks.

Perhaps I'm used to league appointed field umpires not trusting club appointed goal umpires!
