Speakers - Wifi connection

Post by stan »

Hi all looking for a speaker that I can connect up to my home network and can be controlled via my phone.

Any suggestions?

If you want great value for money go for Sonos.
If you have some money to burn go for Bose.

JB has a fairly good range of both but obviously probably cheaper online.

I'm happy with the JBL "Hey Google" thingy my girlfrirend bought me because she wanted background music when here...
The sound is fairly good but doesn't compare with the eight 10" basss speakers and ten small electrostatic tweeters in my media room.

Got my Sonos Move today, came out this week. $649 RRP.
Great at home and also great for parties, totally portable with 10 hour battery life and can handle rain and dust.
Still best at home as much louder on wireless than Bluetooth but quality seemed similar which is sensational.
Rated the no 1 portable speaker, it's a bit pricey but worth every cent, I love it.
Also works seamlessly with Spotify.

I'm amazed how good one speaker can sound, the technology involved is incredible. It has inbuilt microphones that detects its environment and changes the sound accordingly.
