Whose that?

Patterson playing for Marion will be a handy pickup, can see the two sides that have come up to A1s surprising many this year.

Valley should be winning A2s or going very close.

There's a lot of intrigue around A2 this year and whos going to stand up down there

I think Payneham won't feature come finals time... Reynella will see this as their year to get promoted back to A1 but can they be consistent enough to do so, will be the question

Hope Valley is going to be hard to beat with Sykes and Wilkins being their standouts and would expect big things from them at the A2 level.

Flinders Park is another that should feature come finals time expecting big things from Overall

Unley is a big unknown - Woodville South are going to rely heavily again on Hoffman and you would expect him to have a bigger year than last year and start earning those $$

Woody Rec - and the only sure thing other than death and taxes is that Duffet will continue to carry this side with the bat and will go close to finals based on this.

ROC - really unsure have heard nothing on their front will be interesting to see how they go - bottom 4 likely if they haven't picked up anyone

Golden Grove will be interesting to see how they go in their second year in A2 - Whitehead, Anderson, and Higgins are keys but their year will be determined on how there 4,5,6,7 players stand up.

Old Igs and SHOC both coming up will perform well enough but one of these teams may find that they re fighting for relegation at the end of the year.

Other then Flinders, HV & Reyenlla - there will a lot to play for all throughout the year to try and play finals and to avoid relegation.

Should be a lot of great cricket played in A2 this year.

No Rosenthal for Wood Rech hurts, young team will rely heavily on Duffett and Behrendt
Flinders Park batting is strong.

You are right about about Sykes and Wilkins, should and will have big seasons.
You missed Fulham, Big Pom hasn’t returned but they will be around the mark with both Adcocks playing.
Harvey will bowl bulk overs and bat high so expect Woody South to improve. They need a quick to stand up with the new ball.
SHOC will go ok.
Top 4 -Hope Valley, Fulham, Flinders Park, Reynella
Bottom 4- Unley, Golden Grove, ROCS,Payneham

Flinders Park - batting heavy side, with Taylor skippering, look strong and will be around the mark. Coach still playing too.
HV - wil rely on Sikes and Wilko, and be keen to atone for a poor A1 campaign last summer
Reynella - Gabby is back, so will boost them. Retained everyone else from last summer by looks of it
Paynhem - dealt with an exodus, will rely on Stagg
GG - same team as last year, fall away rapidly with depth. Top end should do enough to keep them safe from relegation.
Unley - looks like a few new recruits, will rely on the skipper, not sure they have enough across the board
Old Igs / SHOC - look like the same sides as A3, will fancy themselves against the Unley's, GG's and Payneham of the comp
Fulham - two bowlers have left Adel, two in to replace
ROCs - unknown
Rechabites - Duffett and Cam Behrendt the big ones with a bunch of kids. Pivetta will be bowling alot
Wood South - A couple of big ins with bat and ball and Hoffman still around. Harvey will have a big say in this comp. Could be the flag favourite?

H Latchford - taking footy more seriously, not playing cricket this summer.
D Clayfield - New girlfriend made him choose between footy and cricket, and he's playing footy.

He recons they'll get a couple of lads out of the school this year, and is hopeful they retain a couple of the above, but even still, that's a gigantic hole to fill.

That will definitely close the gap.

Seems the two down to retire were the couple they retained, however the other 6 are all missing. Oh, and Hurburgh not listed either. Trinity would consider themselves a real chance this week in a 40 over game where you only need one bat to have a day out.

Hanson named for Pooraka has crushed a few hearts who thought they might have been a chance this year.
Frick also not the worst in for the Bulls.
Danny Southern telling Plugga he's fat, I'd like to see that!

Not a lot mentioned about A3 but just adding my 2 cents

A lot of teams around the mark. Would expect Concordia (assuming Hassan is still there) and Brighton (relying heavily on Maunder and Howard) both to go close again. Modbury will be around the top half, Adelaide lions and ingle farm both head up after b1 last year, should both be competitive! Hard to tell how everyone else will go. Expect some inconsistency in this comp. Are Hectorville or pooraka A3 sides or did they just have bad years last year?

Haven’t heard any big recruits around in this comp. should be fun to watch. 12 teams who could win

Gonna go out on a limb here and say Adel Lions will be playing A2 next summer. Hasith will clean up most sides again this summer.

Tossers on a footy trip or something? That's a skeleton of the side that went up last year.

A2 Round 2 preview

Flinders Park v Fulham
It should be a really good game of cricket and my game of the round. Should be plenty of runs in this one with Adcock in good form early for Fulham and wouldn't expect Flinders to be bowled out cheaply two weeks in a row.

Old Ignatians v Payneham
This one will be a massive touch up with Old Iggs bowling to be too strong for Payneham.

Rostrevor OC v Woodville Rechabite
Can Rostrevor get Duffet out cheaply is the key and maybe the key to most games involving Woody Rec this year? they really struggled against a good attack last week and this will give ROCS some hope.

SHOC v Reynella
SHOC will be looking to bounce back after what I'm sure would have been a disappointing loss to GG last week. I can't see that changing with Reynella too strong in all facets of the game.

Unley v Hope Valley
HV will want to bounce back after starting the year with a Loss last week. Expect runs and wickets from Sykes most weeks and nothing should differ here. Unley will need to bounce back after last week after conceding more than 6 an over in a one day game albeit against a good Fulham side.

Woodville South v Golden Grove
Hoffman, Harvey, Hyland & Espagne will feature in opposition bowling discussions all year. The likelihood of all 4 missing out in one game is slim.
GG will need a good platform to either set a big enough target or chase down the score with Anderson or Whitehead to feature with a big score if they are to win

SHOC & Payneham would both be pretty happy it's not a one dayer this weekend. Payneham contributed 42 extras with one bloke with 12 no balls and 4 wides. WTAF. SHOC weren't quite as bad but contributed 36 extras with Kitschke, Walkington & Peake spraying them everywhere. You could argue bad bowling has cost both teams. That's alot of extra overs to bowl.

Looks like Ingle Farm got a juicy one. Maybe the same for Goodwood?
5-10mm forecast this Friday night also.

Actually, the pitch at St Peters was fine yesterday. Much better than the previous week. A couple of run outs didn't help the Farmer's cause, but SPOC were too good. They will push for finals and Eranga will be a handful for some batsmen in this grade. Pooraka would have had about 4mm on Friday night, so it would have had some moisture in it early. Only 58 overs bowled, so I assume a delayed start.

Pooraka/Goodwood no play until 2.30 pm. They were still cutting and rolling the pitch at 1pm. When will Pooraka get their shit together and but some covers. ******* disgrace!!!!

Pitch at spoc was fine. Full credit to spoc they deserved the win and out played us. We had a poor game.
Eranga still bowls sharp enough to trouble all batsman consistently attacking with short pitch bowling with the odd full ball.
A 38 last wicket stand was very handy for spoc in the outcome of the game. Along with 2 run outs that didn’t help us.
Spoc have enough talent in that side to push all team and could be around the top 4.
