I can’t remember a worse opening pair in World cricket at this level. Henry is average and DeGrandhomme wouldn’t look out of place playing B grade at district level. Then they have a NSW reject to come in and chuck a few pies. Really a chance for a few blokes to pad their stats

Yeah not sure.

He’s churning out the runs but for me he doesn’t appear to have the elegance of a M. Waugh or D. Martyn nor does he have the hitting power of a Hayden, Ponting or Gilchrist.
His mannerisms are just weird and annoying.

But I guess his stats speak for themselves

If he had a positive mindset he faced enough balls to make 100. This is not a world class bowling attack, far from it, but he made it look like it was. I stand by my earlier comment that he's selfish as evidenced by nearly running out Marnus to finally get off the mark. Rather watch the Rat any day

I don't care what anyone says Steve Smith is one of the most selfish batsman we have had in a long time. He is also a very tough watch. Every Shield team has a better bowling line up than this yet he's playing them as though they are the best bowling attack to ever play the game

Its not Test cricket, this bowling attack is not even Afgan standard but Smith has made it look like he's facing the Aussie attack. Shouldve made 400 today, 600 by tea tomorrow and had 20 wickets by stumps day3. No need for this game to go into a 4th day. It will now because Smith is more worried about his average than the team=selfish.

Aussies will try and bat all day tomorrow, probably knock NZ over by stumps on day 3 and then bat again cant have the test finishing to quickly with all they hype around about 4 day tests

Smith hits 63 on day one of a test which helps us reach 3/283 and pretty much an unloseable and very winnable position from there.
