The never ending No AFL in the SANFL whinge thread

Provided crowds are allowed back, the SANFL should use this opportunity to potentially start the season late and run it over summer.

Grounds may need to be shared, but there would be enough availability to get a season going.

8 teams. 14 Rounds. Top 4 and 3 weeks of finals.

A season done in under 4 months.

Who knows, it might be the way forward for the SANFL? Dog_ger predicted it years ago.

I was told this week by someone who usually knows that it’s highly unlikely either of the AFL clubs will play SANFL this year if the season goes ahead.

As much as I hate their presence, they can't just simply decide to pull out and leave the competition, would confirm that they do just treat the SANFL like its plaything.

Plaything It won't be a choice to not field a side in the SANFL if it comes to it, it will be a necessity to ensure the clubs survival at the top level. The same as if a SANFL club has to pull its team from the reserves comp or the Women's comp.

So it was critical to their AFL program in 2013 but 2020 its a dispensable item?

Very confident there will be a SANFL with 8 clubs in 2 years. Smaller lists and no reserves Comp something that was inevitable anyway.
