Yep - he made a great ton for us (albeit at Stirling East) a few years ago.

But if he does get going, you just need to stick two blokes at deep midwicket and squarish long-on, get your bowlers to come round the wicket and keep the ball full.

(a bit like bowling to Gilly really)

Is he still a quick and erratic bowler?? I never did enjoy facing him in the nets at Mylor.

Well footy season ended yesterday so thought id pop on but seems people got the jump on me along time ago...

Wouldn't have thought SCIB oval was too bad for cricket... considering it is a perfect circle almost!

Benny Thomas having to play C's due to work commitments. The best glove man in the comp playing C's is bit of a shame and loss to our A's. Kid can bat too!

Whos the SCIB player heading north? Brucey Dawes was saying hes going away for work... is this who your referring to?

Big pick up for SCIB in Dan Pastroe. Wants to enjoy his cricket more and was trainingwith us last yr so has come up from Kensington. Very Very handy bat. Shame my recruiting skills werent up to scratch with young ironbank footballers S Ford whos playing for the bays and R Lacey whos playing for flinders uni. Wouldve been big recruits if couldve snared them!

Willy P Muirden playing Gridiron for the Adelaide City Chiefs which is a loss for SCIBs. Can play the game but apparently the NFL is his true calling! starting receiver for adelaide in 07/08..... playing for green bay packers in 08/09 maybe :o

Certainly a big coup for Aldgate to get Slack Ben back into the fold.

Lacey was in the top 3 quickest in Mount Gambier a couple of years ago, has hit former test and state cricketers and left them sore! Probably wont bowl that quick again through chronic injuries you IB footy boys would know how injury prone he is. I believe the Hills is on hard wicket so it would have been interesting to see him bowl on that. He also was an absolute champion wicket keeper in his day, before he took up bowling at 17 because he was too quick in the nets. Technically one of the best batters you will see and was batting at 3 in the Mount As as a 16 year old, old man says he dropped off a bit since then as well! Two, Three years ago absolute gun, smart cricketer (think he got dropped from As one week for not training, and captained their Bs), now still a handy recruit who would do well in As. Knowing him and his old man, I think that if Ironbank keep working on him you might still get him!

It makes them competitive but hardly a top 4 side when you rely on 2-3 blokes only and the rest arent A grade players...

Peter Sleep came out to help the BCC last night, was very handy and was even signing a few young players up for TTG in the years to come!

Bridgy looking pretty good, solid core of players and will be seeking sucess in the 07/08 season!

TVCA details:

Mt Torrens have dropped out of A grade after just one year, leaving as an 8 team A grade.
8 teams in the A2s. Not sure on the Bs. Probably about 10.

Even if Dunbar is right and we do lose Jussy, which we don't see happening, who's going to volunteer to drive him to games?

Other MLCC news, and a big blow to the batting lineup, Staten Evans out for 12 months, having knee surgery in October.

English wondercoach Steve Collins is taking the club by the horns and moving it in the right direction. Looks as if he might make about 1000 runs this season if nets form is anything to go by, which it sadly is not.

I heard a rumour that this English wonder coach might be on a little bit of coin. Any truth to this from you boys in the land of the red caps??
