Playing reserves this week

Was getting $2k per game in NT, so big paycut back to zero!!

not playing this time of year in the NT, was a member of our coaching staff but has been persuaded to play again, great pick up I reckon.

Any chance Paul Thomas will pad up. Serious Gun That guy

dunno, but I've heard that RRUUDDII is thinking of making a comeback :D

yes, just what we need, some height (197cm), together with Robinson (200cm), Fort (196cm) and Marsh (203cm),
not a bad mosquito fleet running around under their feet too, with Boyd & Nason back, plus the Schillers & Habel,
I'm feeling quietly enthused.

Provided we give Butch a chance leave him forward dont have him half way down the ground like last time he played for us
and get the ball in quickly to give all the forwards a chance.Bit hard for him to kick goals from a wing where he was forced to play from last time.
Significantly the one time he was allowed to go one on one he kicked 6 gave off 2 and surprise surprise we kicked enough to win.

Agreed, keep him forward not as a "stop gap". Great contested mark and brings the ball to ground. Would take the oppositions best defender.

If he plays I'd have him lead up CHF with Robbo at FF. He'll splatter a few packs, get the smalls under him. Rotate the Menzel boys between the guts and forward pocket. Put Fraser down back to help Muzza and Llewellyn.

Great pick up. Really pleased to have Butch back and to see him play.

Can we PLEASE not have comments about his kicking, inaccuracy etc.I'm over it. It's been done to death and is very boring.
He's a very good player and will improve our team, gives us a target up forward and takes the opposition 's best defender.

He's a very solid player if only he could improve his kicking accuracy he'd be a gun.

Centrals should be looking forward not back. He is no champion returning. Thats a worrying sign .

Very handy to have back in the team to inspire our young emerging players, such as Durdin & Lange.

Definitely, one thing that was evident we were missing last week was a key forward. Our desire for the ball was there, we had a lot more possessions than Sturt but didn't have the key forward to capitalise on this. Butch will give us this option. Now we just need to improve our skills.... they were deplorable last week :o

I'd ordinarily agree.

This year is far from ordinary and if he can encourage us to kick a little longer while we keep searching for a key forward then it might be a good move.

South lose co captain Matt Rose for up to 12 weeks after surgery today to repair a torn bicep tendon.

That was some sort of shoulder dislocation. Continues a bad run he has been having.
