They don’t have a masters or C grade side do they?

Maybe he can goal umpire.

He was sniping blokes 10 years ago playing for CBC when he couldn't keep up with the game, can't imagine someone would be able to change their ways too much at his age.

He chased one of our blokes down from behind in round 18 last year and caught him holding the ball. One of the lads caught it on video and its still my favourite video on the Modbury Football Club Instagram. well worth a watch if you get time.

No sniping behind play from Jarz but he did get yellow carder for arguing with an umpire

I wouldn't call him the fastest cat on the field but i think the mental scarring is something that has encouraged him to work on his first 5 steps over the pre-season

Match Review - POS vs POS
When I think POS I think either Point of Sale or Piece of Shit.. on this occasion it's Pembroke Old Scholars vs Pulteney (no longer OS), out at Haslam Oval.

It's been a while since I've ventured to Haslam, the last time being the 2007 C grade Semi Final, where despite collecting 30 in a best on ground performance, I couldn't carry the useless Chics over the line... Fair to say that was probably the highpoint of a rather uninspiring playing tenure, but I digress.

First of all, formalities must be observed - congratulations to Nick Bentley on game 300.. an incredible achievement and display of longevity.. hope you play well enough to be happy with your effort but not good enough to kick 10 goals.

Interesting match here with 1st squaring off against 3rd - Pembroke staved off a determined and fast finishing Walkerville last week by a solitary point, to remain the only unbeaten side in D4 this season, whilst Pulteney also survived a late scare to beat the Tahana inspired Rams from Gepps Cross.

Curnow was irresistible in the ruck last week, allowing Pengelly and Connors to play as they wished, whilst it was the game of Canny across halfback that proved to be pivotal in the match, intercepting Cat entries and creating rebound from D50 with Forster being the biggest beneficiary up forward with 3 goals to take his season tally to 11.

On the other side of the city, the depth of the Blues was the difference between the two sides, built off a strong 2nd quarter which recorded 5 goals to two courtesy of hard running from Tyson Currie and a couple of superb individual efforts from Josh Giddings. That quarter being the difference, despite Jeff Ladd at the other end booting 5 goals and proving very difficult to contain.

Unfortunately whilst this match up appears delicious on paper, Pulteney have been decimated by injuries this weekend and will start rank underdogs.. the upside is these two "college sides" will probably play bruise free footy, with the first team to record 10 tackles for the game winning.

The combination of Forster, Evans and Worral forward will be difficult to stop, whilst Curnow should have a day out in the ruck - curbing the influence of Connors and Pengelly in particular a challenge for Pulteney.

On the other side of the coin, however, Pulteney aren't without capable players of their own - Giddings has enjoyed a couple of strong weeks forward, Tucker and Currie finding their form of late and Gurnett should enjoy the conditions this weekend.

Sadly with injuries, the gap will be too great, and Pembroke should run out comfortable winners in all grades it'll be champagne and caviar all round at the Kensi Saturday night.. jolly good show chaps!

Pembroke: 48-60 points

Big thanks to the Chics supporters for slamming our bar and canteen today!! We definitely weren’t ready for it. I think the sunshine also helped, but gee whiz there wasn’t a spare car park anywhere!

They have a great following and we look forward to returning the favour in 2021..

PS - the holding the ball rule is officially shit.

How good is the position of the camera man for the Pembroke vs Pulteney game. Seriously whoever filmed that should never get another job filming ever again.

The highlights package of Gepps v Woody South was really poor. All you see is the goal umpire signalling and the players celebrating. No idea of how goal was scored or the lead up. Will probably watch the full match later in the week but a lot of people only really want to watch the highlights and they won’t be able to see much.

Not ideal, but not too many other vantage points that could've been used.. is what it is - rather the games filmed with a beam in the way than not at all.

Didn't miss much anyway

Pembroke vs Pulteney
Cracking day for footy Saturday, sun was shining, birds were singing, beers were flowing.. the kind of Saturday you cop either Round 1 or first week of finals.

Game started well enough, both sides having ample opportunities, but unable to convert. A couple of soft free kicks the only interesting factor for the 1st term as the Kings took a 4 point lead into the break.

Second quarter went much like the first, Pengelly was well held in the middle, delivery into the F50 hurt Forster and Evans, and Curnow was being matched in the ruck. Pulteney at the other end didn't seem to have a viable goal scoring option and struggled to find any fluency heading forward.

The second half was mostly one way traffic, Worrall stamped his authority on the game, firstly dominating the ruck during the 3rd term but then taking intercept mark after intercept mark across the wing/half back line, and releasing Iannucci who ran riot off the back flank. The speed of ball use from half back enabled the forwards space to work into and the result - 7 goals to 1 third quarter.. the game was over.

Blues continued to try and plug away, the heat sapping the energy from players tired legs and guys who had come up a grade experiencing the difficulty of extended quarters. Worrall's ruck influence was curbed in the last, Pengelly and Connors still well held but it was Iannucci and Webster that cut the side to shreds and 10 goals between Forster & Evans showed how potent those two can be in combination.

In the end Kings ran away 59 points the victor to remain unbeaten and atop the ladder as we reach the rough halfway mark of the season.

The percentage blow to Pulteney could prove costly, and a super critical game this weekend vs SMOSH ahead.
