Re: Round 11 Centrals v Norwood Saturday 1410
Yeah not a bad effort except for a a couple of five minute fade outs.
Goody made a few mistakes maybe time to hang up boots.
As gazza says a few more ins next year the Menzel boys and Izzie also the young boys are developing very nicely.
Bring on 2021.

SANFL 2000 - 2011 Central District 12 consecutive Grand Final appearances and 9 Premierships.

The Reserves are now a game and percentage clear on top as well.
Things are heading in the right direction.

Definitely not doom and gloom and could be in the mix next year.Brucetiki wrote:The Reserves are now a game and percentage clear on top as well.

The U18’s are still pretty ordinary but that can change quickly

Our U18s are a 'Jekyl and Hyde' team; we managed to beat Sturt when they were top, allowing Norwood to take their spot. However, yes, we have put in a few very poor games. A lot depends on when those who play College football are available.
Cheers
P.S. In other news, it appears that Matthew Panos' season may be over, having scans today. A wonderful man and great player and it would be sad to see him finish his first season as captain on the sidelines.

Unfortunately reserves winning doesn't translate to the League anymore. Same as the U18's.
Butcher kicked 5 , where from ? I assume close to the goals ?

Oh settle down mate. I hope he kicked them from close to the goal as that means Centrals had a forward near goal.
I bet the coach was happy he got them close to goal . Shows something IMO. Not that you would understand by the looks .

so that's who he supports, why doesn't he have a sturt logo next to his name.

He tries (unsuccessfully) to keep it quiet.

I just like intelligent SANFL comments on here but it seems limited by the audience.

Re: Round 11 Centrals v Norwood Saturday 1410
Hats off to Centrals, showed what fitness and the right attitude can do. Couldn’t be any happier for Chris Olsen. Massive respect to Nason for hanging around, obviously could earn more locally but must love the club.
Yes we were down on the bench but we simply are unfit, we got run over by fit youngsters and battlers.
How did Surman not play on Butcher? Ellison needed to be moved onto him a lot earlier but of course we aren’t coached well. McKenzie did a great job when the change was finally made.
We aren’t just unfit we are slow, so why wasn’t Wilson on a wing?
The game-plan when did have the ball was almost the worst I have seen.
Are there anymore reasons why Cotton needs to go?

sorry, I thought you were having a go at him, he kicked them from the square (after taking contested marks) and from further out. Played a traditional FF's game.

Sadly confirming that Matt Panos has played his final game for the year; has ruptured his ACL. Wishing him a speedy (if that is at all possible with an ACL) recovery.

A big loss to SANFL... a genuinely decent guy as well as a smooth player.
Little known fact, the Dogs put to him a decent offer (more than the Legs were paying him) heading into the 2019 pre-season.

I have got to know Matt very well over the last couple of years, through being blessed with the opportunity to work with him. I agree that he is a genuinely decent guy, Northerner... in fact, one of the most selfless, hardworking and nicest people I have ever met. It is really sad that he finishes his first season as captain on the sidelines.
Cheers

Given that this weekend coming up was scheduled to be the Prelim Final on Sunday, that arguably puts paid to his 2021 season too.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Yes, hope Panos recovers quickly, the comp can ill afford the loss of quality players.

Norwood 8 looking at your injury list might be enough to keep Cotton next year you have had a bad run .
