Pulled the pin on a set of Srixon z585 irons (4-PW) with the most recent Golfbox sale.

Having a hit on Sunday at Aston Hills to give em a good workout.

Will be on the hunt for a gap/sand wedge now :)

Irons went better than expected. First hit with the 8 iron I rained down on the 2nd pin. Quite forgiving and nice and soft.

Look forward to next hit.

Golfbox have anothe 20% off clearance at moment- was too slow grabbing a Cobra F8 fairway wood for 145 brand new

Anyone run one of those fatter grips on their Putter (Super Stroke or similar)?

Thoughts?

After yesterday I'm looking for a change up, dont really want to shell out for a whole new putter, but a re-grip is on the cards.

Always putted well in the shop with the thicker grips... but easy to putt on a flat fake grass.

Looking at buying some new Golf Shoes - currently have Foot Joy HyperFlex with BOA system.
Thinking of going for spikeless shoes - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

ive got new balance fresh foam LinksSL
they are really comfy, especially if you have a wider foot,
I played a fair bit over the summer and found they have worn reasonably quickly.
I reckon Ill wear my Footjoy's with spikes for rest of winter and try get a bit more summer out of my New Balances.

Of the shoes I see most on the course with guys I play with, the Puma's seem popular and few guys have Sketcher's - unsure what they are like but been told they are comfy
get on board the thunder train!!!

Ive been playing a little bit of golf this year and have been looking at upgrading my set, particularly my cutlery which would be at least 25 years old. I said I would do it when I break 90 off the comp tees but a 90 is near enough!
My putter also needs upgrading, but not urgently, just looks shit and the grip is gone.
I have a driver im happy with, callaway ft-i (big square thing, sounds tinny but goes dead straight) so didn't want a full upgrade. Have also been borrowing a couple of hybrids that I will need to give back at some stage.
Anyway after looking around and hitting different clubs for a while I ended up going second hand (cause im a tight arse) but quality.
Just picked up titleist AP2 clubs (5 years old, new grips), 5i -pitcher, titleist 3 hybrid, callaway xr steelhead 3 wood plus an odyssey putter for $475.
Pretty happy with the price and quality of sticks.
Need to find myself a wedge or 2 and pending how I hit the hybrid, maybe something between the 3h and 5i to complete my set.
Gonna have to find half hour tonight to give me a little test on a wide fairway before it gets dark!

I think I'm gonna sell the F8 one lengths.
Haven't quite settled into them. Like the concept but just haven't suited my style....
I just resort back into the bad habits that are comfortable.....[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

There was too much going on with those for my liking.
Goodluck!

Picked up a F9 OL GW 49° with the golfbox recent sale for $45 bucks.
Used it last week. Did the job nicely.
Didn't have the GW in previous set.
It replaces the Cleveland uhx 49°.

Ive just this week replaced my putter grip. Just had a standard slightly worn out odyssey grip.
Got one of those thicker grips, feels way better in the lounge room, hope it still feels good on the course when I next get out.
