The first week of finals:
First Qualifying Final: Kiwi Krappers (1) vs ZedForce (4)
With both teams coming off of convincing wins in round 17 and the Krappers compiling 130 more points than Zed you could easily be captivated by just how flawless the KK's team is on paper, and they've had to endure a couple of weeks without Mills.
But then you look further into Zed's line-up and see that he's had no Mills, Greene, Dusty or Highmore, with two of those certain to be back this week I can see the lower ranked side getting up in this huge battle especially given that Zed has lost only once in their past 13 outings, and that was a 3 point loss.
These two have line-ups that could well see them square off in the big dance, it's probably in their best interest to be playing this week.
Tip: ZedForce by 47 points.
Second Qualifying Final: Blighty Teasdale (2) vs Power Rules (3)
Blighty Teasdale have been a bit inconsistent of late but can still pull a big score where Power Rules have been the silent assassin going about their business all year quite nicely and then smashing out a 2619 in round 17.
Blighty has some unconventional players on his list and was let down last week by Bolton, Grundy, Taranto, Merrett, Neale and Adams while Highmore and Greene watched on, so to still smash out 2388 and pants The Bye suggests that I can see a better showing still this week.
Power Rules are super strong, they have Mills to come back in this week and decent coverage in each discipline, it is a well manufactured line-up with plenty of thought going into it, I learn a lot just by looking at as his DPP usage is simply brilliant, even his cheapo's score well.
Tip: Blighty Teasdale by 26 points, with no great conviction though, PR's line up could easily go BANG!!!
Elimination Final 1: Golden Fleece (5) vs The Bye (8)
If it was raining nipples, The Bye would get hit by an arsehole, everything they've touched has turned to shit and 4 times they've traded a player in only for them to be a late withdrawal before even playing a game for the pink and blue.
With both teams scoring similar of late I think it will come down to what trades they can come up with, both teams have some holes to fill already and they both have Greene to come back in and the Bye will welcome back Mills.
Tip: On the back of The Byes horrible form I'm tipping The Golden Fleece by 9 points.
Elimination Final 2: True North (6) vs GETOUTOFMYWAY (7)
Well basically this comes down to how many trades GOMY have, they'll need to replace Walters and Pendles straight up and if there's any more on their injury list then it could be curtains for Dave's mob as there is little other coverage.
True North have some inconsistent fringe players which are probably due to turn it on, they have plenty of POD players that seem to score well and with the addition of Mills back in this week I can see a very competitive score being posted.
Tip: True North by 143 points.
