This attitude is typical of the newer generations.
It's a victims mentality for mine.

Instead of looking at boomers who have built their empires and think geez, I'm going to have a crack at doing that myself, instead they look at boomers and think 'that guy/girl has more than me, that's not fair, I'm going to grizzle and complain rather than work out how to get ahead myself'.

Having said that, the people that raised these entitled brats.....boomers.

I know of one brat that demanded an advance on his inheritance so he could afford to buy a house and was complaining to some people including me.
I asked him how much money he had for a deposit. Nil.......zip..........f'all. I said "Good luck with that"

inheritance, whats that? all i expect to get when my parents croak is debt :(

Chief can be okay depending on the inflection.
Champ, never. Like Booney said, for a 10 year old. A ruffle of the hair and well done Champ when they've just seen out the last overs of a C Grade game against the big fast opening bowler to help draw the game.

I haven't been able to work out what WGAF stands for so far.
Then I never used the word "champ" nor do I know anyone who does.
Obviously it is from a different world...

True story this (and by no means pointing at you tipper)

When GMH was shutting down, they were given free financial planning advice as part of the outboarding

There were several stories of husband / wife teams that had worked at GMH for decades who had $millions in their superannuation but still lived in a local ordinary house.
Some had no idea how much they had and could have retired years earlier whilst others had no idea what to do with it so just made out it didn't exist.
Very few spent it - they just weren't used to having so much money

Lucky bastards.

Unfortunately i dont believe my olds are in any position like that. Not that im right up on their finances or anything. They arent that old yet, so are busy spending any super they have, so i reckon once we pay for funerals etc, and tidy up the house a bit before sale, then split whats left with my siblings ill be lucky to buy myself a carton of big shed boozy fruit.

Not that my kids can expect anything from me either, unless the wife finally gets sick of me and smothers me in my sleep like i probably deserve

I think it's more schools etc that have taught kids to question everything & that everyone's a winner

Yes Schools are teaching kids they are wonderful, no doubt, but ask yourself why they are doing this.
40 years ago if you got the cain at school and went home and grizzled about it, dad would give you another wallop. Dad would trust the judgement of the teacher and back them up.
Now days, not only is the punishment all but gone, but now if a teacher tells a student to sharpen up, the parent comes in and wants to speak to the principal to find out what punishment the teacher will be receiving for making their poor little sunshine feel inadequate in front of their friends.

Don't get me wrong, teachers can be snowflakes at the best of times, however their behaviour has been driven to that point by the expectations of parents. IMO obviously.
