Mrs got a great state voucher and thought we'd travel up and see the great unvaxxed country.
Got a Spa room.
Room itself is fine, Spa is quite comfortable. Could jump into the spa from the bed if so desired...
So we went to the restaurant attached, Angus and Co steakhouse.
Mrs got a call to see if she wanted to book a table for dinner, the last table. So she snapped it up.
The restaurant was probably only 1/4 full
But moving along.
Garlic Bread $8 solid start to the night, well toasted x 3 pieces
Chicken parmigiana $27 - decent sized chook, well salted chips. Salad by all reports was tasty. The parmi had a hint of Cinnamon spice in it.
Got a rating 10/10
I went the crispy skin Salmon on $32, served on a delicious mash with garlic broccolini and a bernaise sauce.
The salmon just melted away. The skin was well salted also. Delicious. Solid effort. 8.5/10.
Washed down courtesy of 2 drink vouchers including a pint of Stella in a chalice.
Then dessert, the Mrs suggests we go and see what else is available in the area.
However it was at that point where I simply had to educate her that we hit the Quinella here with entrees and mains. Time to double down the investment into the dessert.
2 x sticky date puds with icecream $12 were simply divine and what was needed to top off the culinary experience. 10/10
Overall a very pleasant dining experience, even if we were perhaps told a furphy it was a good furphy.
They are hit and miss, the salmon is a treat, lucky you didn't get the bruschetta.
I said to the waiter "Hey fella, how is this bruschetta? It is cold chopped up tomato sitting on toasted bread, it is crap"
His return "Yeah, everyone has said that".
