I think BobLangdon is Glenelg, not TTG.

That would make more sense.

I only visit TTG every 2 years if I’m unfortunate enough. Throw some of that salt over your left shoulder @heater31!

Just another comment judged wrongly, lucky everything on here is spoken like Gospel and we are all of the same opinions.

I'm sure you have all seen the video doing the rounds of West Torrens players kicking puppies

Hopefully some good news regarding bowling stocks for SA should be confirmed after the final shield match.

Billy Stanlake looking to rejuvenate his cricketing prospects after injury setbacks is currently in talks with SACA for next season. A Possible 2 year deal.
Good friends with Nathan and Brendan.

Buckingham unfortunately another poor case of Redbacks High Performance gone wrong. Poor kid is getting thrown to the wolves, a taller poor man’s Chadd Sayers with less quarter of the skill.

Shame about the Somerfield dismissal, half an appeal more so in desperation than for anything, replay suggests outside the line plus clearly two noises. West Torrens thankful again like they were against us in the One Day Final. Would have liked to see how much more complaining they would of done after the Tea Break when TTG pushed closer and closer. Wasn’t to be.

West Torrens behaviour was Embarrassing to say the least. A friend of mine who hasn’t been to a Grade game in a while said it was unbelievable to see and hear how they were going about their cricket, let alone it was those players who are in our high performance squad carrying on like children. Very disappointing from the WT group and they all need to have a real good look at themselves.

Very good season by TTG, given they have only Oakley, and Head (faced 6 balls one Game) and all the other teams in the top 7 collectively make up the entire Redbacks squad that needs to be applauded. Professional Cricketers versus average joe blow who works Mon-Fri to rock up on a Saturday and compete. Hats off to Gatting and Co. You really shouldn’t have competed, and before someone jumps up and down and says it’s because they cheat etc etc get your facts right before making accusations! Funnily enough WT have a larger reputation of cheating than TTG.

Can't say I agree with too much old Bob has to say here but it is rather humouros that WT were complaining about TTGs ball management when it was pretty obvious they were doing the same thing in the one day final until it was brought to the umpires attention by the glenelg captian short memories

Also the criticism around Buckingham is unjustifyied he's pretty good for a 19 year old kid bowls decent pace outswing better bowler than Joe Mennie at the same age and he turned out alright give the kid a chance hes bowled his team to 2 premierships

Are the flat wickets and Turf ball making it inevitable teams search for ways to get it moving? Especially with the rules as they are meaning you have to take 10 wickets. No sweat or saliva allowed anymore. Not condoning cheating but something has to give.

More grass on pitches? Go back to the Regulation? Try the Duke?

It was his choice to come to the Western Eagles, he was not chased, told conditions he had to accept in coming to the Eagles, his moving on would not surprise.

No, that is not true.

Do one of the following : (a) either stop making things up or (b) repeating other people's guesses or made up stories

Can you talk about something positive?

Here's a start - Buckingham .. 21 years old and 3 wickets on debut.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note I wait for the day when we get rid of that ridiculous turf ball we use.

Re: Grade Cricket

Is there a chance for SACA to trial, without causing too much pain, a 2 Division set up in the 1st Grade for season 22/23?

Nothing changes below 1st Grade. 1st Grade gets split in two with a home and away fixture. The top 6 from this year in Div 1 and the bottom 7 in Div 2.

The Top 6 were pretty clear cut this year and all but 3 Redbacks Squad players play for these top 6 clubs. Only Lehmann has been with his club longer than one season and is the only local playing for a club outside the top 6. Carder (Port) and McAndrew (Woodville) the other two.

Trial for one season only and see how it works out? Could even revert to a normal finals with top 2 of each division playing off against each other, therefore every club still a chance to win the premiership.

Could this be a relatively painless way of seeing how much difference playing against a higher quality opposition each week makes to the top level of players without forced mergers etc. Maybe it won’t make a difference at all?

I know it’s not a long term solution, but with the Redbacks squad full of young players vying for a position in a currenty unstable XI and a clear cut current top 6 with the vast majority of squad members already aligned, is it an opportunity to try something different. As it happens, the top 6 are fairly well dispersed to represent all areas of Adelaide as well.

Yes, that is very annoying. Adelaide have not confirmed the result from the last round, so it doesn’t go thru to the ladder. SACA should have just over rid it and done it for them as they probably were over the season by then

SACA had the chance to do Men’s final too but said was too expensive. They really don’t care.

When WT won triple premiership five years ago the prize money for all three totalled around $30k. Prize money this season is…………..ZIP

What an absolute joke this organisation is, no reward to Clubs who achieve the ultimate success, they are just making it as hard as possible so clubs have to fold on their own!

not to mention every other state has a 3+ day grnd final even Tasmania - the prestige of grade cricket has fallen off a cliff in SA event hough the quality among the top teams is still very good.

that West torrens team would be very hard to beat in any state 1st grade same with Kensi Glenleg and a couple others. SACA need to dip into their pocket put some capable people in charge of premier cricket and promote the comp Bradman medal night was a disgrace as well no promotion poor attendence.

first thing that needs to change is the premier cricket comittee clear out the old coots and and bring the comp into the 21st centyry.
