It was at the WWT football club NOT the Woodville cricket club.
Which is at Woodville

All the logic has been we need to reduce teams to make the state team successful. Last time SA won a shield the comp was 14 teams.Eagles2014 wrote:Bit of a strong rumour going around that the SACA Premier Cricket comp will go to 14 teams to get rid of the Bye. May not have time to happen this season, but the following season a team in Mount Barker will be added.
Is one of the biggest growing areas, with a fantastic new facility, not that far to go, and only affect Sturt and Kensington a bit as the kids normally go to those clubs.
West Torrens proposed this six or seven years ago when we were under the pump.
Obviously a different direction than reducing the number of clubs, will be interesting to see if this idea grows wings.

6 teams in Division 1. The rest in division 2. No mention of a 14th side yet. But surely once the dust settles on this division setup it might be considered.

Puts lot of pressure on Clubs to finish top 6 this season, if that is how they will determine the Div 1 sides. Expect Clubs to try and load up on talent to make sure of it. Imagine if Kensy or Uni have a below average season and finish 7th, be spewing they have dominated for so long and end up in Div 2

Will it be one up one down each year for promotion/relegation?

Yes, that is the proposal. Be a bit boring playing the same five or so clubs few times a year

Aerie wrote:Makes sense. There should be some weighting of performances in recent seasons to determine who is Div 1 and who is Div 2 though. Imagine Prospect loading up on players and finishing 6th, while Kensington have a down year and finish 7th. A move in the right direction to strengthen Grade cricket though.

The Semi-Final winners play off for a Div 1 Premiership and the losers for a Div 2 Premiership.
