Given the forecast for heavy rain Wednesday until Saturday, you're probably right.
Should make for a wonderful spectacle Saturday.

That’s seriously right up there with the worst grounds I’ve ever seen in the SAAFL over the years. Reckon it could be a new number 1.

Those photos looked good compared to how it did when Flinders played them there 5-6 years ago. Swimming pool in front of the changerooms that was coned off, wish I could find the photos.

Mail is Ingle Farm will host the D7 finals this week, coz they’re shit and don’t get to experience finals.

Confirmed and locked in.
D7: Houghton v Adel Lutheran @ Rowe Park
D7R: Greenacres v Houghton @ Rowe Park.
Apparently league were keen to give Houghton as much time as needed to get their oval ok, but the club made an early decision to move the match and give it a couple of weeks to in the hope if having it ready if needed for another final.

Houghton.. what an operation they're running up there. If last night at Ingle Farm is the norm for them, sign me up!
Great numbers on the track, plenty of support, filled the clubrooms after, last of the lot didn't leave until well after bed time - and incredibly respectful and courteous.
Had almost all the players stick around for teams to get read out which I rated. Also rated former Ingle Farm premiership player Dan Bryant rocking the full Ingle Farm kit for training.
On the bandwagon.
In other news, I'm in the bad books for rolling home just before midnight with a guts full.. and today is proving to be a veeeery slow day.

Absolutely love reading this comment, thats great to hear. I have really felt for the hard working volunteers and members of Houghton over the past week, as a club that is no stranger to having the odd muddy deck, we know what its like when the social media pile on occurs and people all throw in their two cents worth about something you really cant control. The right call has obviously been made to move the game based on the surface condition, but it wouldnt make it hurt any less for the lost dollars and opportunty of hosting a home final.
Drainage isnt cheap, and hopefully its something Houghton can work towards in the future but it sounds like they've got the most important thing right at the club, that being their culture.

Re: 2022 Adelaide Footy League - Division 7
Interesting couple games Saturday - in the B grade Greenacres never looked like they got out of second gear, cruised their way to victory.
Former Ingle Farmer Ryan Heusler was pretty good all day for the Dragons, but overall they looked too slick on the outside, and kicked straight early which really put to rest the Raiders.
A grade wasn't one for goal kicking purists, both sides missed chances, but I felt Houghton controlled large parts of the first half - just couldn't convert. Few key moments in the 2nd hurt - Fiedler a set shot from not far out missed, not long after Martin spoiled and ran into an open goal - had Hallam inside would've made it a certainty, but he sprayed. Probably could've ran all the way to the goal line.
Then to cap it off, a dropped mark and unfortunate slip by Davis resulted in a cheap goal to Scholefield as the halftime siren sounded, giving the 'Dogs a 13 point buffer.
Third quarter was a train wreck for the Raiders as Lutheran piled on 5 goals 9 to a single goal, taking a 45 point lead into the final break and effectively game over. Houghton fought hard in the last, restored some respectability in the score and pride.. but it's a final and lose by 1, 21 or 121 - score line means nothing when you're on the wrong side of it.
Liam Davis seemed to spend an exceptionally long time at full forward in the 3rd term when Lutheran had a run on - perhaps could've moved their best player back on the ball, or lose in defence to stem the flow and slow the momentum. Oh well, value of finishing top 3 you get a chance to make amends this week.
Flinders Uni have had a soft run the past month but bring winning form into the match - certainly wont be easy.. winning form is good form.

Not surprised at all.
Brilliant club, run by great people. Great coach, and players too.
Unlucky loss on the weekend, but no doubt will bounce back.
The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.

Re: 2022 Adelaide Footy League - Division 7
Greenacres through to the GF and promotion to D7.
Houghton survive a late scare from Flinders Uni to progress to the Prelim and face Adelaide Lutheran again, this time at another mud pit in Price Memorial.
Greenacres and Houghton also meet again in the B grade, Raiders too strong for Mitchell Park and the Dragons succumbing to first seed Adel Lutheran by 11 points.
Would Adelaide Lutheran take the ticket to D6 if they win this week?
