Last time we won a series Hauritz played in all the tests.

Booney wrote:Warner is an eye player, he's never been about technique ( the amount of shots he played in that 200 with a bat on a 45° angle was alarming ) and his eye is going, understandable at 36. Head, much the same, all eye and not so much about technique. It's likely they both struggle there.
The real pressure is on the correct Labuschagne, Green and Carey. Smith is another example of batting, but it's Labuschagne, Carey and Green I think we need to fire with the bat and it's exactly why I'm playing Hazlewood and Cummins at least. Green is going to have a load of work to do and I think we'll need him more with the bat than ball.
I also think Head and Labuschagne look more like wicket takers with the ball than any of the three mentioned about and with Hazlewood, Cummins and Lyon with Green, Head and Labuschagne taking part I reckon we have enough to take 20 wickets there.
Moving Green to 5, Carey to 6 and playing a second spinner leaves us vulnerable with Warner a literal hit and miss proposition at the moment.

Other than his 98 not out on debut has he actually made many runs since in any form of cricket?

Shami never bowled more than 8 overs in either of the second innings.

Spinner took only 15 wickets? Don't win if you don't take 20.

That was in the second innings....15 out of 20 second innings wickets. Shami took a total of 2 second innings wicket at 37. The spinners took 15 at 15.
Just cant see how Hazelwood will offer enough value over Green.

I'd consider playing a Handscomb or Renshaw at 7 and Carey at 8.
1. Warner
2. Khawaja
3. Labuschagne
4. Smith
5. Head
6. Green
7. Renshaw
8. Carey
9. Cummins
10. Lyon
11. Hazlewood
Only downside with the above is 6 left handed bats.

I’d move Renshaw ahead of Green to break the combinations up a little. Although you express having 6 lefties as a problem, 2 of the right handers are Smith and Marnus, there’s a fair chance that they will face nearly 50% of our balls.
I’m eager to see Zampa get a gig, I’d prefer him if we are to go a 2nd spinner, he can land it on the pizza and give it decent turn, any other option will only get embarrassed by the Indians.
