Essentially it's just match play v the course..... plus is a win v the opponent, minus is a loss and half is shared.mighty_tiger_79 wrote:Had the discussion at golf last Sunday week about Par and how it's not overly popular.
I like it myself, it's just golf.
But the consensus was it's the low handicap players who don't like Par the most.

Yep, that's part of the discussion.heater31 wrote:Essentially it's just match play v the course..... plus is a win v the opponent, minus is a loss and half is shared.mighty_tiger_79 wrote:Had the discussion at golf last Sunday week about Par and how it's not overly popular.

But everything can be converted to a stableford score anyway

But if your just playing for yourself its 100% a mindset thing. I only get 1 shot in the first 6 holes at the bay so its very easy to be +3, +4 with what feels like a reasonable start. Couple down in stableford feels easier to make up than in par. I've started turning off the mid round scoring in the app and just play each hole on merit and playing a lot better for it.

Double on the first the day didn’t improve, in the water twice on the same hole, hit the club roof teeing off on the 9th, 3 putted twice. Didn’t do anything well………….
Nett 80. My worst score in as long as I can remember.

Terrible at teeing off but still can chip and putt. Chipped in from about 30 metres.
Looking forward to playing again soon.

Just Marion I think it was.
I just couldn’t get any air in my tee shots.
