Definitely retired from SANFL.

Some rumours also linking him with Crystal Brook alongside the Combe brothers.

Trailed at every break but then got out for a 15 point lead in the last only for Nuri to kick 3 straight and hit the front entering time on. 2 quick goals sealed the 8 point win and remarkable to have only lost 4 games in 3 years. Don’t think they are ready to stop just yet either

On a side note, and I'm a little late to the ball, but how good was Lyndoch as a venue?

Difficult to recruit when your at the outer edge of a league
Everyone has their turn at the bottom.
Kapunda has some pretty decent kids as evidenced by their U13’s and U17’s being near the top whilst Freeling is the top side in the U15’s.

Just checked todays scores

Kapunda and freeling won’t play finals for the next 5 years at least

Freeling off to APFL

Hearing Kapunda have a new recruit, pretty handy pick up if true and will have followers.

Is it true Kris Grant the former CEO at Central District will take over from Mick Brien as BLGFA President?
The League is probably overdue for a change at the top and Kris would be a fantastic get for that competition!

No one would have better knowledge than the man.

As long as he brings some energy and willingness to move with the times than he will do brilliantly. Those traits seemed to be lost at the end of his tenor at Centrals, was in the business of blaming the current state of football on everyone else but not willing to move the club forward and adapt to the changes.

Do Tanunda feel hoodwinked by the Lyndoch Gather Round decision?

Marketers and drone operators made the call that viewers could see more vines and hills from Lyndoch, so it’s an interesting call!

Ok, weve seen one round, whats the predictions?

South
Nuri

Willaston
Angaston
Tanunda

Barossa
Freeling

Central

Kapunda

I cant see the top 2 changing, maybe if Willaston or Angaston have injury free seasons they may challenge for a GF birth. Tanunda around the same.
Barossa and Freeling will be a little off these three.
Central will only beat Kapunda
Kapunda, 200 point losses maybe the norm.

Dont follow the Barossa closely but Willaston having McKenzie, Irlam, Waldhuter, Clinch, Cormack, Hoskin, Fry would have to be a dangerous team on their day. I guess those blokes are all aging.

Kapunda need to face facts and get out of BLGFA

Will not be competitive in the short term and unlikely to win another flag in the next 20 years

Unfortunately they are the furthest team with the smallest population

Credit to them, they have been alot more competitive than i expected.
Its not all gloom and doom for them.
Their 13s, 15s and 17s will all play finals. They havent been in that position for a long time.
It will still probably take 5 plus years to see the benefits at A Grade level

Would Kapunda be wise to merge with Freeling, much like they have in the BLGW?

The female footballers have showed that it could work nicely; they have two great grounds on which to play, and could split games between the two.

Unless numbers are poor you couldn't see Kapunda and Freeling merging.

I doubt they would merge purely for the fact of on-field results, unless that starts hampering total numbers of players.

wow, biggest upset of the season and just like that Nuri are out of the finals race, what a shame.
Kapunda getting up by a point, its the only instance of any of the bottom 4 teams beating one of the top 5 teams for the season. Been a very boring predictable season in that regard.

South Gawler would be over the moon not having to beat Tanunda next week to make the finals.
Angaston and Willaston to play for the double chance at Willaston next week.

Form would suggest Tanunda fairly comfortably but there is nothing on the line for either team so could be a free flowing contest

Yeah haven't really been following the results but I thought that this game was going to decide if South were playing finals but that's obviously not the case anymore?

Nuri lost to Kapunda on the weekend giving them their 1st win of the season, coming from 33 points down at 3/4 time. This means South are safe regardless of result. Had Nuri won, South wouldve needed to beat the minor premiers this week.
