Does seem rather odd timing. I recall a few times in prior years where one of the Eagles games against the Ravens coincided with a junior carnival they host at Woodville, which in turn had the effect of distorting the attendance figures for the SANFL game (ie 3500-4000 was often the reported figure). So maybe this had something to do with it.

The Eagles kids carnival has always been followed by Eagles vs Crows reserves game. Seems to be a fixture these days(years).

If my bad memory is working some years like this year we’ve played Adelaide pre AFL game and at woody oval with a kids carnival
Game at Adelaide oval this year very few crows fans until after our SANFL game ended
Game at woody oval not many crows fans some sitting in front of where I was sitting got up part way through saying we are off to watch the AFL
