I mean it’s no secret we have had a bunch of injuries this year, only need to look at playhq to see that. We’ve got 4 top shelf A graders who have been out for the year with knee injuries.
From yesterday sides we would expect another 3 that were out yesterday back into the a grade and then another 5-6 b graders to come back in for a total of 8-9 to return for the first final.
We will need everyone one of them back to make it a contest in September. The interesting part will be the value of the Saints having a more consistent line up in both grades.
Interestingly a fortnight ago when we played RSMU we had 19 blokes out with injury that at the start of the year we had presumed would be playing football week in week out. We’ve battled hard but we have still managed to put 21 blokes on the park each week in both grades.
IF the Saints take over the mantle this year fair play to them. We obviously go about our football in different styles and that has caused a huge rivalry but ultimate respect for the club for genuinely having a crack at the title year in year out.
Also interesting the Koolunga Pub has been shut for a year or so now

They need to put Billy Wells into the A Grade, i know he doesnt train but this is a premiership on the line for the success starved Saints. Put the best team on the park

Agree and did mention this after about 5 rounds
He would add a huge amount in the ruck
Chris Scmidt hasn't trained in 2 years but they paying him top dollar to play 5 games and finals
billy would give more

I've banged on about it a bit on here but Souths biggest problem has been that their best 21 has never been picked.
I'm led to believe this year's recruits from North Adelaide pretty much put the ultimatum that they start picking their best 21 or they're not bothering to come up each week and will leave.
South could easily be the most improved side in the comp if they got a few things right, especially if they end up with Charlie Dinning back their next season plus a couple more recruits that he is rumored to be bringing.
The problem for South is that their blokes sitting in the b grade are mid to late 20 year old types that really should be coming into their peak of A Grade footy. Names likes Reynolds, Jenkins, Pike, Jacobs would be in their clubs best 10-12 players never mind playing b grade.

In the b grade we go into the finals as the youngest side by a mile…….8 guys under the age of 21. What that means for our fortunes who knows but pretty proud of that given last year it would have only been 1-2 in that age bracket.
