Based on where sides finished in 2023 and how often you play them in 2024.

For instance Port had Adelaide (10th in 2023), Richmond (13th), St Kilda (6th) , Melbourne (4th), Fremantle (14th), Carlton (5th) twice.

A hard draw given 3 of the double ups were top 6 sides.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

I read somewhere Collingwood played 12 top 8 sides won 6 lost 6.
Someone else, maybe Adelaide, played 9 top 8's and went 3-6 they were next.

Geelong were 5-5, harder to play top 8 sides when you're in the top 8 too.

I had to get my head around 12 top 8 teams. It hurt for a while.

Correct, meeting Hawthorn in the first 5 weeks, Sydney a month ago or Carlton recently would hold a heap of less weight than meeting them at other times, same goes for most teams played. Takes a lot of luck too.

Playing Essendon in July & August is a guaranteed win…

Seems wrong given Reid was easily the best nominee

Geez Burgess is a bit of club hopper isn't he?
Spends a couple of years at a club then moves to another.
Crows would be livid if this actually goes ahead.
But maybe he just puts a program in place that can be run by someone else and then he moves on.

I don’t know the answer to this but has the Crows fitness been far superior since he has been here?

When you're one of the elite minds in your field you don't club hop, you get poached. He's sought after by many organizations.

It's hard to quantify because fitness alone doesn't take you to the top as you need the talent as well. I think he took the AFL world by storm in 2013 with Port and how we played and again in 2021 with Melbourne he had them humming ( see talent above ).
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.
