Roosters will get a very quick gauge as to how much they have improved up against a very strong AFL Reserves Team playing for places in a winning senior team.
Players win touches, Teams win matches, Clubs win Premierships.

Adelaide will lose 2 or 3 of their AFL players.

Were North very good or Norwood very bad? Combination perhaps?

North is and has been the enigma of the comp for many years.

They are completely predictable in being unpredictable … success seems to be directly proportional to the strength of their opppsition.

What the F?

It’s simple, North plays the top team, it’s more likely than not that they’ll win. The very next week, they’ll play the side that’s stone Motherless last, and they’ll most likely lose.

What does this mean for tomorrow?

Faarked if I know. :-??

Win by 10 or lose by 120.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

They have always been the same for the last 60 odd years at least. I am an old man, but I often quote that I have seen North win 26 times at Alberton and 25 times at Norwood. They certainly have the best opposition record easily at Alberton and I would think at Norwood too. Yet why have they "only" won 14 flags? 6 of the Alberton wins were in Port premiership years, and in 5 of those years North didn't make the finals (1965, 1981, 1988, 1996, 1998)
Even last year North beat the eventual premiers and yet with due respect lost to West at Richmond.
I could go on forever, but in 1971 North without the greatest, Barrie Robran, beat the reigning 5 time premier, Sturt and the very next week they lost to eventual wooden spooner, Woodville.
Is it that North often have a lack of depth?

Yep! North have comfortably lost their past 2 games against West at Richmond.

The only thing that's sure for North, is nothing's for sure.

I noticed during the state game that Alex van Wyk had his leg in a moon boot and on the NAFC it says he has an ankle injury but no idea of how severe or how long he will be out. Did this happen during the game vs the Crows because I thought he had a great first quarter and then McAndrew dominated for the last three quarters. He will be sorely missed if it is a long term injury.
