Add in the player coach Nathan Rayner it's a potent squad. Lulu would be looking like one of those bobble heads wobbling around at the moment.

How many players left the Mount to follow Cotter out to Argana Park?

None from memory.

we lost a couple up the road, and a couple interstate for work commitments.

That's good, I thought Benny was still out there.

It irks me when players continually follow the same coach around, they should all stay and build something together,

Round 1 done and dusted.. now for a 2 week break!

Interesting results, only the West Croydon vs Houghton game went the way I would've expected.

Seeing Para Hills first hand, must admit they're a far better unit than I anticipated. The return of Steve Willment takes a lot of pressure off Weetra and makes them less one dimensional. Carvell & Muller from Gepps are good gets for this division, and Win Thach still has it.

Karim looks a different man playing on a wing, much more freedom and looks quite dangerous - and Brandon James at CHB is tough.

They have a lot of good sorts, some very good ball users and a nice balance of speed on the outside + toughness on the inside.

Blackfriars was a real shock, all they talk pre-season with them and Fitzroy I expected Fitzroy to do a number on them, but only 3 goals difference - are BOS better than expected or Fitzroy over rated? Combination? 46yo President playing in the 2s ahead of kids though is interesting... ;)

Shoot out between OSB and St Pauls resulting in a 1 point game certainly raised eyebrows - Lions could be a serious threat this year, especially if Dan Loveridge can stay fit and old man Rigney still kicking bags. Kaesler early medal favourite.

Finally Rosewater.. I would've tipped Lutheran heading into that match, but Pawluk put them on his back and won the the battle of the dogs. Rosewater side doesn't look a lot different to last year, so will be interesting to see how their season plays out. Side note Adel Luth C grade doing Adel Luth C grade things with another big win whilst the top two lost. :D

Ahh footy, it's back! This division will be a lot closer than we realised a few weeks ago.

Blacks were better than I expected, Loui Loprete is a decent forward. Fitzroy may need a bit more time to click, but there is a lot of talent in that side. Getting to gel will be critical.

Fitzroy Bgrade came from 4 goals down to get up. Funnily enough when the 46 year old Pres wasn't on the oval. ;)

At least you headed into the two weeks with a win under the belt. Nothing worse than a loss before a bye week.

Why do you want to subject kids to the horrors of Bedge sweating?

Cracking set of games this weekend - will be looking to results with great interest. Reckon you could toss a coin for almost all of them.

Starting to tell a bit of a story already.
Blacks are more than solid and go 2-1 this week.
Lonsdale are better than I thought they could be but will probably go 0-3 this week, and look to be fighting Lutheran for 8th and 9th.
Ingle Farm, St Paul's, Fitzroy to be top 3 with Para Hills still in the running.
Houghton the surprise packet.
Rosewater might be the fraud of the comp at this stage, next 2 games will tell their story.

I think the top 5-6 will be far tighter than I imagined before the season.

Fitzroy, St Paul’s, Ingle Farm, Blackfriars and Para Hills for me the best 5.. with Houghton a whisker away & OSB probably just behind them.

However Raiders host Ingle Farm this week, and have a reasonable record against the Farmers - knocked us off last year up there, and beat us year before in Rd 1 at our ground.

West Croydon are in for a tough season.

Surprised to see the OSB result after they matched it with St Pauls in Rd1.

St Pauls could be the team to beat by the looks. Probably the only 2-0 team who’s played two decent opposition to start.
