Saturday

Flaggy
1st round club champs and as expected all done after the tee shot on the 2nd
Just struggled all day.

Today
Tanunda
What a complete contrast.
3w was delightful aside from the 12th where I pushed right into trees. Good recovery but still ended with a wipe.
Greens were fluffy and on the slowish side. Didn't break a lot. Really enjoyed that. 31 putts for the day.
Fairways are a little bit of a mess unfortunately.
40pts

So looking at GA

Slope rating at Tanunda White is higher 124 v 123 flaggy Blues   really not sure how that works...unless I'm just 5h1t at flaggy

Adjusted gross was 77 with the wipe which is what it was.

Played in the Tuesday comp this morning. It’s been a while.

Went ok I guess, 34 points with 2 scrubs.

Lesson booked in for Friday as I’m the Div 1 pennant captain this year, certainly need to put some more time in to my short game if I’m even going to be competitive in it.

I’ll also have to ease on on Saturday nights
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

How is the slope rating determined for each course?

By inspection from staff at the SA branch of Golf Australia.

Think they look at both statistical data and physical inspection

That would be disappointing.

Surprised 19pts got me 3rd, did strike them much better which was pleasing.

Scrub was on the 1st after nailing my drive past the dip, hooked my second short of the 18th tee but into a small drain, wasn't 100% sure if I got free relief or not so played it and took 2 shots to get out which then ended up plugged into the bunker face, another 2 shots to get out = scrub

That doesn't surprise me. Always conducted himself professionally in my encounters.

I think him and a few other of the On Course were the ones behind the Noarlunga simulator joint.

Hey gentlemen, playing up at Barossa Valley Golf Course on Monday with some of the lads from work.

I’ve never played up there, can anyone give any insights, reviews of the course?

Would appreciate it…

I enjoy the course. I think it's the better than Tanunda and sandy creek
They tend to focus on only watering tee boxes, fairways (landing areas etc) and greens. Mostly clear under the trees with just dirt.
Don't think it's an overly long course from memory.
Greens were good, perhaps on slower side but were consistent.

Cheers, unfortunately I think the watered fairways will be wasted on me... But hey, you never know.

I used to be a member at Sandy for a while and really enjoyed the course, greens were amazing, again wasted on me, so if you rate Barossa higher then that is a solid endorsment.

And my rating isn't biased on previous results.
If it was, Tanunda would be #1 by the length of Flemington straight.

Saturday - disastrous and a water ball on 7
Sunday - no better.
Driver didn't behave optimally but it was the putting that killed me.

Today - went out into the shed and grabbed the old hybrid cleveland set, plus the $8 5wood
Gave them a little wash watching Masters before hitting the course.
Driver stayed in the shed.... never been the same since Drummond "fixed it.
Started good
Wheels fell off.... topped 7w into dam on 7th :(
30pts
