Interesting that Michael Gough was let go too, I thought he's done a good job and had a good reputation?

Changes to the CA contract list

“ The Test summer's standout newcomers, Sam Konstas, Beau Webster and Matthew Kuhnemann, have all been rewarded with national men's contracts for the 2025-26 season.

Cricket Australia today announced a settled 23-player list that has seen just three changes from the previous year with allrounders Sean Abbott and Aaron Hardie, along with spinner Todd Murphy, the only omissions.”

Todd Murphy: Played the test previous to our last test and gets omitted! Senseless.

I suppose if they only want two spinners on the list, one can understand why they opted for Kuhnemann over Murphy.

Yes, so can I, I just find it a tad harsh, I guess I sort of got mixed up by thinking these contracts would be predominantly for test players, looking at the list and it's a mixed bag. It still doesn't seem real logical anyway considering players will get an ODI game on the back of a half decent game of BBL, I'm still used of players earning their spot in the Aussie team.

Have heard SACA are looking at having a second Village Green to help assist (and maximise profit) expected crowd numbers for the upcoming Ashes tour with a similar set up to the members on the outer in front of the Hotel.

Think they have done that before and even possibly against India as well.
