Does anyone else feel a need to eat all the time because of the cold weather?

I'm forever hungry lately whereas a couple of weeks ago I was barely eating and then jogging/gymming every day before and after work. A week of intense training with the rollout of a new system at work derailed that and now I'm in a rut. worst part is that I st 5 kilos in 2 weeks doing the right thing.

Your definitely not the only one....worked in the gym industry for 15 years and nearly every gym on the planet will have a reduction in members during winter months versus summer months.

Best method i've always found is to set a goal. Often i set a goal that reaches into summer, sometimes sport related, sometimes holiday related, sometimes fitness challenge related. Find the WHY and the doing gets a lot easier.

Goal is so important. I find that with my running also, if I have a race to train for, doing it through winter is so much easier than getting out on the trails in the cold and wet and night.

You'll be mowing it once every three weeks now, it'll lay dormant now the soil temp has dropped.

I'd had three bad weeks after I promised myself my good gym habits ( 3 x per week - 1 hour a trip ) would not stop when the cold weather hit and it did.

I've been shitty at myself for a month now as I put 3kg back on but then read a really good quote that got me back on track.

"You can make changes or you can make excuses"

I was throwing a kettle bell around at 4:40am this morning.

Personally I prefer to cooler weather to train, I have a heap of stuff in my garage and it's easy to use the excuse that it's too hot to go out there at 6, and by 9 I just CBF.

Got in there last night for the first time in far too long, is it normal to whimper every time you stand up from your desk??

I was getting up at 4:30 and doing an hour before work and then a 6km walk/run as soon as I got home each night.

During my training for work I had international trainers here and I was working from around 6am til past 8pm a few nights during the week, it got colder that week and then I lost my mojo. The pleasing aspect is that I know I can lose 5kg in two weeks without too much effort, I've only gained 1kg since so all is not lost and I will get bet back on the horse as soon as I get home this afternoon.

Was doing 3km in the morning then a further 6km early evening.

The annoying part is that my watch displays when my daughter has just completed a workout or closed her goals, she is smashing me at it and normally has everything closed by 5:45am......................and then does another gym workout after work

Would never discourage anyone from training lots but don’t be weighed down by time expectations

30’minute workouts are more than enough if you work hard in that 30 minutes, limit set rest times, continually look to progress the weight as time goes on and try incorporate efficient exercises.

I just aim at burning more calories than I've consumed each day, I find if I intermittent fast and walk/run in the afternoon I will wake up lighter the next morning.

I/F is tough to start with but not that hard after a few days of it.

I'm a pig and I'll eat whatever is in sight otherwise. I cannot have chips, lollies or chocolate in my house, once a pack is opened it will not see the day out regardless of size.

It's tough having an onsite canteen too, especially when people walk past my office with a chiko roll, dim sims, yiros or a hamburger, the prices are very good too so it's easy to just eat junk.................nice junk that is.

*Weather interrupts this chat*

Nothing much to report other than a steady drizzle for the last hour or so. Might have got 1mm.

I've got a 20kg bag of worm castings I'm going to put a dent in tonight or tomorrow night in anticipation of.

Then I'll water it in on Sunday.
