Agreed. Wish Spurs didn't bother to get through. The only carrot is a Champions League place for next season but for the other 31 who get through to the knockout phase, it's just one big waste of time, money and effort.

Money and prestige.
Being in the CL is a very good carrot to attract new players. The elite players in the world will often float between sides in the CL so if you want to attract the best you need to be playing amongst the best
