Someone in the rooms after the game told me they were quietly optimistic about the outcome.

They would have done the usual ACL laxity tests as soon as he got off the ground. From memory there was footage of him hopping up on a table as soon as he got to the interchange bench. I'd say that would give them some initial optimism if he didn't fail those.
