My favorite is when you mark it "must be signed for" and "must not be left unattended" only to check the front door and there it is, unsigned for a and unattended without even a knock or ring of the doorbell.

Ol’ mate apparently dropped off a heap of parcels he couldn’t deliver coz no one was home or had trucks blocking their driveway

Told them to put mine aside coz numbnuts is coming back to get mine.

My stupid cat likes to bring mice and rats into the house. For the last few days there has been a stench we could not find the source of. The assumption is a dead mouse or rat in the house somewhere, but we could not find it. Daughter needed to wrap a present, so she has taken a roll of wrapping paper from under our cupboard, and there it is... a 6" long rat was stuck in the tube and had starved to death.

When I was 18 my girlfriend and I moved into a rental and we thought we were pretty domesticated etc.

One Sunday we invited her parents, grandparents and an aunty & uncle over for roast lamb.

I hadn't used the oven in the house but fancied my cooking skills, I had a couple of roasts just starting their journey when there was a terrible smell in the kitchen whenever I walked in it, I got the roasts out, gave them the sniff test and general inspection, they seemed fine as the FIL also thought.

This smell was getting worse, a couple more inspections revealed nothing, I then took the trays out of the oven, flicked the oven light on and stuck my noggin in and there it was, a mouse was trapped and stuck to the element, it was the mouse and it's fur creating a Chernobyl effect. Once discovered we felt very ill from the stench, we left all the windows open, went to the parents house and they ordered pizza........................I was devastated, I'm not sure that I ever used the oven after that.

So far I’ve only been verbally denied but I’m going to lodge it anyway and if it gets rejected I’ll try to take it further.
Pretty shit by the cruise line IMO as most of the airlines and hotels gave 100% refund and the ones that didn’t gave us credits to use in the next 12 months. That’s about $6k but we are going back next year so will use the credits. I would have been happy for Cunard to give a credit and that way I’ll definitely go with them next year and possibly be a repeat customer. Now I’m like screw you, get on my banned list forever.
I had briefly thought about flying back over after the funeral to jump on the cruise but the funeral date was set for the day the cruise departs

Sorry to hear Jim, we had the same issue a few years back with my MIL when she took a turn for the worse just after we arrived in Bali, only way we could get home that day was via Perth so cost a motza and no love from the insurance company when we made a claim a few weeks later
