Re: Round 16 Central v North
Hard to get a league game when Cochrane coming in straight from 18's
Dougie can play and will be a very good footballer but to pick him after 2 average 18's games after missing about 10 weeks is an interesting call. Be surprised if that hasn't upset a few reserves players playing good footy and doing the work. Good family, good kid but not sure on this call

Yeah I agree. Especially being a bottom age U18. Not like he needs to show anything against men at this stage of his development. Some AFL clubs have him rated as the top pick in the 2026 draft - let him play 18s and go well with next year the focus for him.
Quite a few U18s playing league this week who probably need to show they're up to it to give themselves a chance of being drafted, but not Dougie.

Kicking 4 goals in his first half of league footy suggests the selectors made the right call. This lad is a star and will provide an X factor on the remainder of this season

Round 16 Central v North
Yeah, probably a top 2-3 pick next year and will be interesting to see if the rules are altered to allow him to get to Portnortherner wrote:BoomBabyDagger wrote:beef wrote:Hard to get a league game when Cochrane coming in straight from 18's

Dougie very impressive. Dogs were OK. Did enough to get the points. Harry looked very rusty!!

Yup, his second half was better. Mind you, his 5 game suspension spanned 7 weeks.
Pudney probably best; I think his possessions and defensive work are problematic at times, but he clearly has outstanding work ethic.
Luca again shines from half back, our most improved.
And the two potential consecutive #1 draft picks were very good... what a treat to see Sharp and Cochrane before they embark on long AFL careers.
And kudos to Ollie Shaw, he keeps plugging away, doing all the team things that makes a difference to those around him.
Would think we are without a genuine ruck for the season with Annand going down with his knee again. Gives Tomkinson a huge role, and tbh he probably played his best game today so hopefully he can give our mids a chance to do their stuff over the next few weeks.

Re: Round 16 Central v North
Thought we took the foot off the pedal in the last quarter.
Really disappointing to see Kobe go down with a knee didnt look great.
Agree thought that was the best Tomkinson has played .
