Why play Mitch Owen if he's gonna bat 13th?

Second T20I in Darwin tonight, Aus bowling first and going for 10 T20I wins in a row. Carey in for Inglis (who is unwell) and Abbott in for Ellis.

Seriously, if I hadn’t seen it here, I’d have no idea that these matches were on.

I rarely follow any sporting media … whether it be cricket, footy, motor sports, etc, etc

Fair enough, the series has been heavily advertised on all the CA related media.

That Pretorius makes Cossie and Boof look anorexic!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

218 with T David possibly injured, good test for the lads.

I thought during the first match he reminded me of Cosgrove.am Bays wrote:That Pretorius makes Cossie and Boof look anorexic!

I'm not a fan of him but he has the most BBL wickets ever, been a consistent performer for the Sixes and has been a very versatile quick bowler/bowling allrounder, never really had any large injury lay offs like other quick bowlers/allrounders have had so he's always been available for Australia when needed.Sharksta wrote:No idea how Sean Abbott continues to get a game

Stats from the second T20I, Brevis is the first batter the score a T20I hundred against Australia in Australia.

The joys of being on live tv, during Glenn Maxwell's spray after dismissing Markram a big chunk of spit exited his gob and got tangled up in his stubble.

was a great innings to watch, had to laugh though, smashed the Aussies all over the ground, no ramp shots no reverse sweeps, gets to 100, next ball tries a reverse sweep and almost knocks himself out

The shot he played when he drop kicked Abbot (IIRC) 100 m + over deep mid on to the Micheal Long Learning Centre concourse where he kept his head down all the way was f***ing awesome.

I think its code to the professional punters that we're throwing the game.
As to TDK's point about him being the leading wicket taker in BBL, BBL is far from international standard, its worse than ODD standard, 2 extra teams for starters=talent spread thinner. Bowling at the death means youre likely to take wickets and dont need to do anything to get them. He is never bowling at the death for Australia so why pick him

Not normally a viewer of T/20's. However I did take in the Saffers batting, and was particularly impressed with Brevis.
Played normal cricket shots for mine. Hits a good ball.
Got a huge future in all formats I think.
1961, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1983, 1986, 1988, 1989, 1991, 2008, 2013, 2014, 2015.... And don't you forget it!

Re: Australian International Summer 2025/26
Same as some players are good shield players but it doesn’t translate to test cricket. He may be a good BBL player among the many no names they play against but he’s been consistently underwhelming playing for Australia. Has had many many opportunities to prove himself at the level yet has failed to be anything more than average. Time to move on and see if someone else can do what he hasn’tdaysofourlives wrote:Sharksta wrote:No idea how Sean Abbott continues to get a game
