Oh better have a hit before then, the 7th dam is looking up to the brim.

Vines haven't cored their greens for 2 years and even then it was the small nail sized holes which only impacted them for a week.

stroke round this morning in what can only really be described as perfect golf weather, despite the breeze.

tee has switched so over to 10 we start.

the change to tee heights has seen a somewhat improved performance in this area. back to the yellow tees, an upgrade from the blue. this forces me to hit up on the ball, which has been lacking. and now a baby draw has even returned on occassions

so Driver was probably BOG today, particularly down breeze on the 4th, rolled out 260m on the nice hard firm fairway.
3w was also solid.
putting killed me.
only had 1 bunker that needed 2 to get out of. no worse feeling than seeing the ball clip the lip of the bunker, pop up and then fall back down :(

89 for nett 75

apparently the 17th october the 10th tee will be ready and the 9th green to be re-opened.... but we wait and see on that

didnt score particularly well, but as scores dont count towards handicaps its all practice rounds at the minute.

the Driver off the yellow castle tee is going high and getting good distance. really happy with that.
3w off the tee and off the deck also is behaving itself nicely.
4i cleveland just works a treat out of the trees
irons are a little inconsistent at the minute.
putting - still horrible, but late in the round, when i didnt think too much about it, they rolled a whole lot better.

Par comp today.
Front 9 was ok. -2. Found a bunker on 7th and just too scared to hit it and blade it into the.Dam and the 6 where 3 putted.
Back 9 started better. Was 1 over after 6 on back 9 and clawed it back to square.
16th tee. And aimed just inside the OB on the left allowing for a slice that came back. And my word, I hit a popper, off the crown high and right into rubbish on right. Quick walk past the area where ball may have been. Scrub.
17 salvaged a good half.
18, slice into trees. Thought I hit a good shot, hit branch on the deck and stopped dead... pick up and move on to the bar.
-1.
Group in front took 4hr 20mins for PAR

Get to the club first things first what's my handicap for twilight, walk and see I'm off 3. Normally I'd be very happy for 9-hole twilight off 3 but was hoping for more having not played a comp round for a very long time. Knowing full well that's not how it works lol

Par 3 1st- 152m to the pin, slight tail breeze, thought process ok, first swing in a long time nice easy 7 iron with the breeze, couldn't of flushed it any better over the back in the long rough, chunked it out but then 3 putted for 5 a scrub, this is going to be a long night! But then my playing partners started giving me shit, mind goes instantly into competitive F*#k you mode. I'm not coming last in this group.

2nd Par, 3rd Birdie (3 for 4), 4th Par 3 Bogie , 5th Par, 6th Par (8ft birdie putt lipped out), 7th Par, 8th Bogey get a shot on it and 9th Par.

17 Points- 2nd in my group and was quick to let them know over a few ales........

Love Twilight, glad its back.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

I don't play enough or have the time to justify membership, a mate is a member so I just tack on as a visitor for 9 a handful of times a summer.
