I think they're harshly judged.amber_fluid wrote:It’s not cheap predicting the wrong weather on a daily basisdedja wrote:BOM website update cost $96.5M
The key word is "predict", given the ever changing climate it's almost like "predicting" what will happen is getting harder particularly with the sub-tropical conditions we're seeing more and more of in South Australia, its volatile and unpredictable.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.
If you want to go far, go together.
If you want to go far, go together.

Keep in mind they wasted all that money upgrading the website not the infrastructure / weather stations. They still get the same information they just present it differently.mighty_tiger_79 wrote:Im glad the BOM have 1 supporterBooney wrote:I think they're harshly judged.amber_fluid wrote:It’s not cheap predicting the wrong weather on a daily basisdedja wrote:BOM website update cost $96.5M

I reckon I read that there was a new model they've adopted in the last year or so that's lead to the increase of complaintsBooney wrote:

The model would be constantly evolving as data is added.wenchbarwer wrote:I reckon I read that there was a new model they've adopted in the last year or so that's lead to the increase of complaintsBooney wrote:

Nah, had more to do with their predication model, it had changed from what was previously used.
