My assumption with Abbott being continually selected for Aus is that the selectors like him/think they can rely on him because he's never had any long breaks because his career through injury, he's always been available to play when others maybe haven't been available plus I think they like him as a bowling allrounder.

I like others on here also question why him but I sort of get it from a selectors point of view. Off the back of that I've heard the guys from Wisden (talking about Will Jacks being selected in England's squad actually) and Jarrod Kimber talk about cricket fans getting obsessed about the 14th/15th/16th player selected in a squad and that there's no point worrying about it because they usually don't play anyway and only do under extreme circumstances.

Great reward or Weatherald and Doggett being selected and the rest pick themselves really.

Hopefully isn’t a bad one can’t really afford to have two front line bowlers down going into that first test.

I'd only go with that team if Green was guaranteed to be able to bowl 15 overs in a day

How many runs would that team make? Most out of form with the bat.

Agreed, that's why I want the extra batting.

Non playing Captain Pat says Hazelwood is saying shes apples and will be playing

9 days out twinge in Hamstring, running in on a hard WA wicket, be a tad risky i reckon but hes one bowler we cant afford to have out

Rest him and should be ready to go in Brisbane. Play him and he may break down, leave us a bowler short, potentially miss several Tests.

Mark Wood experienced hamstring stiffness in his left hamstring during England's warm up match today. He left the field after bowling the second of his four over spells.

England Lions made 382, Jacks top scored with 84 and Stokes took 6/52 from 16 overs.
