Played Clare over the break, was realty impressed by their greens, played at Murray Bridge in the comp lats Saturday actually played really well their them 2 new holes have a real 'Links' feel about them, when that water runs between them, they'll be tough holes to play.

Back to Mawson Lakes on Saturday started like a house on fire but ended with 36 points, 2 scrubs but, that probably tells you my handicap is higher than it should be.

Good to be back playing.
Murray Bridge with Ron Chopper?

What are you hacking off now?? 5? (Says someone off 10   )

112 off the stick at at Tanunda. 10 on the last an awful blemish to a solid day out.

I was cooked by then.
Has it improved or still dusty af up there?
Off the fairway isn't pretty, I can attest to the that. Played about 40 5 iron punches from off the green stuff back onto it. Some across it. Some didn't make it. Putted well though.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

Finally played a consistent 18 holes with 15 of them being bogey or better, only one scrub on the 5th after I hit my best drive of the day

89 off the stick and 37 pts, importantly kept my lad at bay for bragging rights at home :D

How did you find the course MT? The fairways are nice but are much longer and spongy than 12 months go, greens have had a tough 3 weeks but should bounce back with less traffic.

Controversy
You played off the whites.... ;) like a kids course....

Course.
Given the issues from last january to now, the course is still best conditioned course in the area, by a long long way.
Fairways, nice and lush.
Love the fact the areas under trees are all cleared out. Makes finding a ball so much easier therefore pace of play isnt hurt.
Greens were SLOW  never ever seen them that slow.

Haha for the one extra shot you get I see no need to play off the blue tees

Yes greens were slow, seems they have put a lot of water into them and let them grow a bit more than usual. It is weird that they are a lot quicker in winter than summer.

Flaggy this arvo
36pts, 1 scrub
Driver was good.
Short game with 58° was solid.
27 putts for the day which is likely to be near career best

I see you mentioned Putts, we only ever count them on the monthly medal rounds, although now using the MIscore app to score you can count Putts on there, I like this as now on Miscore stats it tells you your average Putts.

Anyone else use the Miscore App? Seems very popular at my club, which surprises me as the age demographic of our membership base is most certainly closer the end than the beginning.

I also love the function of telling you your best 4 holes and worst 4 holes, gives real data that you can work on.

I use Miscore keep tally of putts.
We dont have a comp for putts.
During rounds I turn the scoring off.

I think in time everyone will be on the new Golf Connect site as a one stop shop for handicap and scoring like MiScore.

Other bonus with MiScore is tracking leaderboards  especially youre own if youve had a good day, can see if anyone is closing in.

A function on miscore but I havent used it is you can create private comps etc

Monthly Medal rounds we have a prize for Best off the stick and Best Putts- normally best putts is 23,24ish although i have seen a winner with 27.

I always aim for no more than 27- 9 x 2 Putts and 9 x 1.

However, you throw in a 3 Putt and your number are out the window.

miscore is great but agree they could do even more with it and Im guessing it will develop as time goes on, using a scorecard seems so 2022 these days

We use it for social rounds and also have used it for Private comps for our Brown Jacket events, the leaderboard function is awesome and puts some extra pressure on the last few holes.

Mt osmond today for a look before sunday where a trip to barnbougle is up for grabs.

Driver was ok.
Irons were gair.
Short game, the 58 is almost the best investment
Putting - left them short all day long. Greens felt slow despite baking in the sun.
32 putts for the day...

83 off stick and 34 points.
Pleased it was bogey golf. No blowouts with doubles etc.

Slow day though
Front 2.5hrs
Back was quicker at 2hrs.

Have made a slight adjustment with putting grip recently.
I held it too much in the fingers and then would get wristy with putts, particularly short ones that in youre mind you say Cant miss this cant miss this and then proceed to push, pull or smash it.
Now have the more traditional grip with the shaft going through the palm of left hand in between the 2 fleshy parts of the hand. Helps take the left wrist out of play. As it was described to me, think tiddy puck
