Pretty sure they play for a shield between the two clubs and Elizabeth FB page was saying they won the game and shield
No mention of B grade so Kersbrook probably won that
Elizabeth play salisbury this week in all grades

Round 1
OSB Lonsdale vs Para Hills
Elizabeth vs Blackfriars OS
Rosewater vs Gaza
Houghton vs Trinity OS
Ingle Farm vs Bye

It'll be a hot start to the season - only game that really looks potentially one sided is 'Lizbeff and BOS.

Ingle Farm match will arguably the closest, but Sullies and the Roos wouldn't be far off - that will be a belter!

Trinity have recruited pretty well, but Houghton play sheep dung oval well, and the dimensions will impact TOS running ability.

Rosewater v Gaza is the match i'll look to with most interest.. Rosewater have gone hard off season too, and are quietly confident.. Gaza come down with big expectations but are down playing it at the moment.

Come on Bedge, no one is getting with in 10 Goals of the top three, Elizabeth, Gaza and Trinity - just ask them!

Boy the Bye first up makes it a LONG summer for your lads considering that first trial match was early on. Plenty of time to work through the issues trial matches can throw up. Hopefully a blessing in disguise for your Farmers.

It was a long summer dealing with players leaving!

It's been a good pre-season actually, and i'm thankful for the bye - think we have got it just about right - started in January one night per week, went to two in Feb, then trial games 28 Feb, 20 March and one next week 2 April (plus standalone short C grade hitout vs Para Hills Sat) has spaced out our games nicely and leaves us with around 3 weeks before our 1st game, whilst not over cooking the lads.

Don't get everyone available for trials anyway, think i've used 35 different players through the A grade squad alone in the two hitouts we have had, so it's not like everyone has been thrashed.

We may not win many games this year, but feels positive on the track, and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves.

Ouch, that hurts! :(

Will Rosies have x3 sides still?

At least the Scab Burns / Bulldog cup might still be a little competitive.

Had a chance to watch Ingle Farm train last night and Coach Mike Bedgeford has them humming like a well oiled Holden Captiva.

In all seriousness it looked like there was some good young kids out there. Was also good to hear the Farmwrs are still rolling out a C grade.

It’s a strange old world we live in now when Country Club$ come knocking for Div 6 players and offer more than their 20 year old wage pays them across a 38 hour week. Especially apprentices.

Of all the players we have lost over the summer, this one infuriated me more than all... I mean good luck to anyone who leaves to challenge themselves, or can get paid good coin to play footy.. but f**k me.

Surely SURELY you have to actually earn the right to make bank,.. not at 20yrs old after only two seasons of senior footy and 42 games... only 7 A grade games.. and didn't get a kick in the two trials we have played.

Fitlhy didn't even tell me either, only found out because the clearance went in.. after he'd organised for me to pick him him up for training as well.

Taken me a while to calm down over this one. Can you tell?

1000% this.

My eldest started fielding offers at 21 after playing association and state country zone, which I thought was fair enough. He's got a fair footy pedigree to back it up, and that was his first full season out of the SANFL system.
His younger two brothers were getting offers at 18, nowhere near the runs on board. Thankfully they both realised it could be a bit of a poisoned chalice, and turned them down.

If you've come through a league system and you're 20, I get it.. but this kid played footy in like U10s then came out to play two years ago after not playing for 10yrs.

Blows my mind ANY club would entertain throwing dollars at someone in his position.

Anyway, rant over haha.. i've been trying to get over this.

That just qualifies him as a shitbloke. You don't need people like that around the club Bedgey.

Nah he's a good kid.. just a not a lot between the ears, and easily led.

Moving on.. Is Josh Glenn still eligible to claim the medal if he is serving a suspension this year? Walked a couple laps last night, I might be right to do a run with role when we play them.. reckon i've almost got him covered as long as he's standing still. 8)

Would be eligible as it was last season suspension. Has he got any more to serve? Didn't he get six and Golden Grove have played 6 matches since then (round 17 & 18 + 4 finals). Pretty sure umpires will already have 3 votes J Glenn written down before the game even starts

Yes he is. A player is only ineligible for the season the reportable offence occurred even if some games need to be served the following season. But I have a feeling the D1 GF was the last game of Glenn's suspension. And I'm pretty sure he would have been able to play in the GF if GG didn't appeal the original offer.
