Dedj’s take (granted, one that no-one gives a rats about) …
- Wines and Butters shouldn’t have been backchatting the ump whilst barely a metre each side of him, early last year that would have been 50m for each of them breathing that close to him (don’t agree with any of it, just where the AFL has now taken us).
- 50m penalty was probably justified (see above)
- I’m assuming the ump sleeps with the light on, seemed to be unnecessarily triggered by whatever Butters said. Perhaps something was said earlier as well? Dunno, just man up and pay the 50 and be done with it.
- Butters, Wines, Port and seemingly anyone associated with them whingeing like stuck pigs as if he’s about to get a career ban. Take a Bex and relax, he was only ever getting a fine … again.
- 22 sanctions for $51,625 in fines … nothing to see here
- the AFL. Well, what can you say about one of the most incompetently led major sporting associations we’ve known. Only they could comically alter the sounds picked up by the ump’s mic to delete the actual incident.

Congrats, you’ve gone to an incompetence level even the harshest critics couldn’t image that you could reach.
- how faarking boring has this season been if this is what people are talking about this week.
- just accept the kangaroo court’s decision and move on, it’s not worth expending any more energy on this non-event.
- yep, it’s ridiculous that in 2026 someone could get a 50m against them and get reported for backchating an ump, but here we are, it just highlights how much the AFL has faarked up this great game.
Have a great day all

Dunno, I’m just an idiot.
