Karen Rolton Oval has been upgraded magnificently, as has the whole Park 25 precinct, and should only get better with the upgrade of spectator facilities on the city side and lighting improvements. The Shield win last year and the event that was, gives that oval instant credibility and stature that is needed as more first class cricket gets shunted from the "stadiums" - even though Adelaide Oval is still the perfect place to watch any form of cricket, no matter the attendance. South Australia has become a destination to come to play cricket and hopefully we can capitalise on that and the success this team has had.

It needs to have a proper grass mound around it ala Hagley Oval; or at least half way around, then you can erect temp stands and corporate tents etc in the other areas. Line the top of the mounds with trees = still parklands and trees.

Yes, there were plans up on signs at the Oval during last years Shield Final showing grassed terraces were going to be built on the outer side and there was to be a lighting upgrade for night cricket, with the existing being transferred to the Park 25 #2 oval, behind the KO Pavilion.

With the Australian test summer including a tour of NZ from January - March 2027 - we will have to do the 3 peat without Head, Carey and probably Weatherald.

Gilkes is a big signing in this space, for mine. Without a FC hundred and certainly inferior to Carey with both bat and gloves, he is an upgrade on Nielsen and will have an important role to play for us. Carey has been the reason we have gone B2B, IMO. Talk about big shoes to fill!

Mac Harvey is going to have to grow his game 10-fold over the summer. He is only 25 though - very young in cricketing terms. We look very fragile at the top of the order if our guns don't fire - a lot of pressure on our all-rounders and bowlers.

My 78 year old disabled grandma is un upgrade on Neilson and she's never played a game before!

He can't bat, and wouldn't catch aids in Bali.

He and Manenti have both consistently helped us get to a respectable score when they come in at 5 or 6 for bugger all.

I feel like he was fairly fortunate to get picked initially - that would have been about 7 or 8 years ago now - but he really hasn't let us down all that often at all. There are worse specialist batsman playing Shield.

Correct - we all know why. When you are gifted so many opportunities when you don't deserve it, eventually when you get given that many chances you should start to perform. Unless you are from interstate or your old man is in the boys' club locals have got no chance!
At least they've rookied some locals instead of going after someone from interstate this time.
Not sure about McFadyen - good at grade level and probably deserves an opportunity but not quick enough for higher levels and wouldn't get picked on batting alone. Bowling is good if presented with a green top otherwise pretty pedestrian.
Wadia - looks like they have creamed themselves over 1 good over he had in the BBL last season.
